1 FINISHED RESPONSE JOURNAL ENTRY Plot Summary - Response Journal 2: Pages In the second quarter of the novel, The Silver Kiss, many things have changed. We have learned who Christopher is Simon's older brother. Simon and Zoë's relationship has progressed, for example, Zoe let Simon in her house a thing in which she never would have even considered in the first quarter. It dawned upon Zoe that her mother will soon no longer be a part of her life that fact sends Zoe into a state of grief. She yells at both her father and Lorraine. Simon begins to confide his past to Zoe, he admits that he is a vampire and that it is his own brother, who had sadistically murdered various innocent women.
2 explains about Aelin, It had been a week since she'd given up her plan and abandoned any attempt at care at all. (Heir of Fire p.# ) Aelin feels sorry for herself and abandoned. Not so unlike Zoë's current situation. Aelin describes herself as, One person, one complete waste of life. She is wishing that Nehemia was alive instead of her. She believed the Nehemia would have been able to do something important with her life, such as continue to lead the rebels and eventually rise up against the cruel King. All Aelin believed she could do was follow the King's orders, not overthrow him and change the world like Nehemia could have, if Aelin had saved her. Aelin is dealing with an important loss in her life, and Zoë is losing her mother to death, her father to grief and her friend to Oregon. Both of these women are young, with Aelin at 19, and Zoë at 16, and they have too much weight on their shoulders then anyone their age should. I hope SICA Quotation Formatting Explaining the Significance of Quotations Learning to effectively analyse and discuss specific quotations is one of the most important skills you will learn this year. There is a clear step by step process that you must follow. This process is known as SICA: 1) Set up the quotation: You must give the quotations some context so that your reader is not left wondering where in the story the quotation came from. What was happening at the time, and/or who said it. 2) Integrate: You must integrate the quotation into a sentence so that your discussion flows naturally. Include the page(s) in brackets after the quotation (p.#) 3) Connect: You must connect the quotation to a specific literary element such as, theme, symbol, characterization, imagery etc. 4) Analyse/Discuss: You must clearly discuss how the quotation is a good example of the literary element you have chosen. Please view the example below:
