2 Dare is the story of a young man s search for himself. We meet him as an angry, defiant rebel who lashes out at anyone who challenges him or who tries to tell him how to live his life. He cares only for one person: his brother Ty. He has only one passion in life: motorbikes. Of everything and everyone else he is intolerant. People annoy him and memories haunt him. He can not seem to let go of the past, believing he is responsible for the death of his mom. This guilt makes him a sad, angry and uncaring person who believes he is no good. Despite his obvious unhappiness, he does not desire to change his attitude and outlook on life.. He fights against change - unless it involves the possibility for him to escape. Nevertheless, Dare becomes a different person by the end of the novel. He begins as an unhappy, irresponsible rebel, but slowly changes his attitude and we can predict that he will end up a happy, responsible caring young man with a promising future. Dare has changed his attitude and outlook on life.
