1 Things to do in Hell - posted by saved_matt (), on: 2005/8/17 16:30 sorry quite a flippant title for such a serious subject but it got YOUR attention :-P anyway... right Hell, the other night the Lord wouldn't let me get to sleep (not a problem i have for anyone who knows me), i had recently liste ned to Leonard Ravenhill's The Judgement seat of Christ, where he spoke about how Jonathan Edwards before deliveri ng 'Sinners in the hand of an angry God' prayed 'Lord stamp eternity on my eyes' over and over and over again, so as i l ay awake i started to ponder Hell, and what it would be like. now I didn't recieve a vision or anything but i really felt the Lord bring somethings to light with regards to the place where, and lets face it, most people will spend eternity. As i wondered what it would be like i became very sure of at least 2 things that would accompany everyone cast into the Lake of fire: 1: Regret 2: Pain Think about it thats all they will have forever, FOREVER!!!!!!!! NO END TO THEIR REGRET AND NO END TO THEIR P AIN!!!! Think about it! they will have no happy memories of there time spent on earth, there fondest memories (meeting the pers on they loved, getting married, childbirth, children's parties, family gatherings) will be the things that bring them most tor ment because they spent their time doing that instead of on their face before almighty God weeping over their life of sin, and pleeding with God to remove their burden of guilt. No hint of happiness not even from their happiest moments. Consider for a moment the mental anguish of your entire life turning into filthy rags before your eyes, add to this the fact that you ignored your way out over and over and over and over again! You spat in the face of Him that sat on the throne before you and looked at you with such righteous fury and proclaimed judgement on you and you know you deserve eve ry second of what your going through, and more!!!! every chance you had to get out will revolve round and round in your head for all eternity, every tract you refused, or ign ored, or scoffed at because you were with your mates, or tore up or threw away, every time you ignored that 'crazy man' on the street telling you to Repent! and now... what... no more grace, no more mercy, no more release, no more pity, no salvation from here, no prescence of God (which you didn't notice while alive but you sure notice now!), NO WAY OUT!!!, no friends to help you with what y our going through not because they arent here with you they might very well be, but they cant help you any more than y ou can help them so why bother? and i havent started on the pain... and this is your eternity and with every second you endure it a million more are added to the end! why dont i feel like this when with unsaved friends? or when I'm evangelizing? That worm is the conscience of the soul. It will eat at them for eternity. Plus, think of all the comforts we all take for granted, like; Not being hungery. I think the souls in Hell or the lake of fire wi ll expirience Hunger, lack of breath, exhaustion or extream tiredness, lonelyness, Terror, the fealing of dieing with out de ath..., I'm sure you all could think of others. I did, and He r esponded. It was not fun. But I feel less fear and more Him, to put it bluntly. I have many old friends that I need to witnes s to. After this experience I am not as squirmish when I think about talking to them. You must be prepared to give up worldy desires. People that are soulwinners sometimes assume that God is smiling on their lives, even though we need cleansing just as much as the unsaved. Ask God to cleanse you, just like Isaiah 6, and He will. Be prepared for a wilderness experience, though. You'll notice after the Holy Ghost fell upon Christ, He was led in the wilderness to be tempted (tried, purified). I'm tired of pretence in my Christian walk, so I've made up my mind that God can do whatever He wants to make me ready for use t oward His kingdom. "Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord. Brother we may not be were we need to be b ut thank GOD were not were we use to be. Man... musically it's a very catchy song. If I'm out somewhere, say a carnival or something, and that song comes on, it st ill catches my ear. And everytime I here it I think of Bon Scott in hell. It's heart breaking what a fool he was, as well as th ose who think as he did. Bon Sc ott sang that all his friends would be in hell, but what if hell is simply nonexistence in the future AND the past? In other words, the person expecting to go to hell, at the moment of their death realizes that they've not only lost all future life, bu t also that the NEW LIFE With those Saved will become all that ever existed. Even the past erased, and thus it would be as if they never existed in the first place. By taking away all past sin the New Life will be cleansed completely and only t hose of God will remain, also being as if there never was a world with sin at all. Just something I have been thinking about. I don't like the idea that a just God would let satan have any souls, or that He would sentence any of His creation to eternal punishment, but could simply take satan's existence and his followers com pletely out of time-space altogether, making it as if they never existed at all. I think those knowing they are about to be p ut out of existence completely would certainly be gnashing their teeth the moment they realized this. It has finality, but is also eternal and just. Thoughts? Bub Re:, on: 2005/8/18 17:00 Bubba... if someone killed someone you loved, and the judge sentenced that person to jail for life, you would call that jud ge a "just" judge. A just God does not "let" Satan have souls... He allows US to make that decision. Just like the murdere r makes a decision to commit the crime knowing full well what the punishment will be. The judge is just following thru wit h the law. The judge is not giving the jailer control of the murderer... the murderer gave the jailer control when he decide d to murder someone. It's called personal responsibility. And there is an eternal hell. Jesus spoke of it, and if it wasnt true, then Jesus lied. Knowing a little of your reasoning on things, I know I just opened a pandora's box... right? The only way yo u can even come close to making sense of there being no eternal hell is if you wrench verse totally and completely out o f context. But in the whole context... you cant build a case unless you're prepared to call Jesus a liar. I think if I were still in the world, and thought that hell would just be seperation from God (which at that point you're seper ated from God already... hellloooo), or that I would just stop existing, or something like that... I probably would still be in t he world. I was on my way to hell before I was saved... and I knew it. I'd seen men die over in Gulf War I... I've walked by dead bo dies. It literally scared the "hell" out of me. It still took me a little while to get saved, but thats when I finally realized that I wasnt invincible... and that we all die. And what follows the grave...? For me, it was hell, and I knew it. Thats called "motivation"! Had to quote you, Jeremy. Such a simple observation arrested me. You know what's striking about it? The lack of information. The deception is based on the reader's assumption that he knows how to define heaven - just what Eli was saying about people smiling because they don't know they're going to hell.
