6 Leadership Ask me about IT Integrity is the essence of everything successful. R. Buckminster Fuller IntegrityIntegrityis a concept of consistencyof actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honestyand truthfulnessor accuracyof one's actions. Integrity can be regarded as the opposite of hypocrisy, [1] in that it regards internal consistency as a virtue, and suggests that parties holding apparently conflicting values should account for the discrepancy or alter their beliefs. The word "integrity" stems from the Latin adjective integer(whole, complete). [2] In this context, integrity is the inner sense of "wholeness" deriving from qualities such as honestyand consistency of character. As such, one may judge that others "have integrity" to the extent that they act according to the values, beliefs and principles they claim to hold. A value system's abstraction depthand range of applicable interaction may also function as significant factors in identifying integrity due to their congruence or lack of congruence with observation. A value system may evolve over time [3] while retaining integrity if those who espouse the values account for and resolve inconsistencies. [4].( Trust

7 Leadership Ask me about IT Integrity Trust, but verify. Ronald Reagan Trust In a social context, trust has several connotations.[1]definitions of trust[2][3]typically refer to a situation characterised by the following aspects: One party (trustor) is willing to rely on the actions of another party (trustee); the situation is directed to the future. In addition, the trustor (voluntarily or forcedly) abandons control over the actions performed by the trustee. As a consequence, the trustor is uncertain about the outcome of the other's actions; he can only develop and evaluate expectations. The uncertainty involves the risk of harm to the trustor if the trustee will not behave as desired. (
