12 Sahitya Sabha was revived after many years, in partnership with the 'Sanskriti' Indian Seniors cultural and social club of WA to a very warm response. It was held on the 27th of January at the Manning Senior Citizen Centre attended by over 40 people. A light lunch was sponsored by Hindi Samaj of WA along with a sumptuous treat of poetry, shayari and stories of the talented participants. A note of appreciation to Rajyashree Malaviya for her help. We hope to make Sahitya Sabha a regular feature of our repertoire. Please let us know if you would be interested in participating in the next one, so we can hold your details on our records. 17 OMI- Information Alert Perth and surrounding areas will switch off their analog TV signals and switch to digital-only TV on Tuesday 16 April To keep receiving free-to-air TV after the analog signals are switched off in Perth, you ll need to have a television that can receive digital signals. The Australian Government s Digital Switchover Taskforce is sending out kits to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) organisations in the Perth area in January 2013 to inform CALD communities about how to prepare for the digital switchover. The kit includes information on how to get ready for digital TV, what government assistance schemes are available, and details of information tools and materials that can assist with making the switch to digital TV. 25 Science of Self-Realization Modern science and technology in recent years has showered the modern human society with comforts unimaginable just a few decades back. It has also tried to reason many of our questions and satisfied some of our curiosities. But has science been able to solve all our problems, has itbeen able to answer some of our inherent questions, like? Who am I? What is the purpose of my life? Who created this world and why? How do I solve the mystery of death? What happens after death? Does God exist? Who is God? Why do bad things happen to good people? Surprisingly, the proposed answers to many of these questions from the modern system looks a little incomplete with missing links or with no information. Does that mean that there could be no objective/scientific explanation to these questions? The ancient text from India (Vedas) especially Srimad Bhagavad Gita ponders upon these questions that has plagued us from time immemorial satisfying the curiosity of great thinkers and philosophers over many centuries. Therefore, our proposal is let's give it a chance. Spoken 5000 years ago, this knowledge is as applicable in today's modern world as it was to sages, kings, and people millenniums before. We would like to extend a warm welcome & invitation to all of you to this comprehensive program on the "The Introduction to Bhagavad Gita As It Is". Celebrate diversity at the Oz Concert Oz Concert is a vibrant multicultural gala event that celebrates the diversity of Australia's rich cultural heritage and the dynamic contribution that many Australian migrants and their families have made to our nation's social and economic prosperity. Kulcha will present the 25th anniversary of Oz Concert on Sunday 17 March 2013 in the magnificent setting of Western Australia's Government House Gardens as the premier event of Harmony Week in the City of Perth. The free ticketed family concert attracts an audience of 7,000 people and it features a dynamic array of talented culturally diverse artists, musicians and dancers. In 2013 the two hour show will feature documentary footage of the event's evolution over 25 years and acknowledge many of the leading citizens that have contributed to the establishment of this iconic multicultural Australian celebration.
