The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) catechizes children who desire to become members of the Church and prepares them to receive the Sacraments of Initiation. PADRE PIO Special 3:00 pm Mass on Sunday, September 23rd Marking the 50th anniversary of his death and the 100th anniversary of his stigmata, Our Lady of Mercy will celebrate a special Mass for the Feast Day of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina with celebrant Fr. Steve Rodrigues, OFM, Cap. Padre Pio was a friar, priest, stigmatist, and mystic, now venerated as a saint of the Catholic Church. Born Francesco Forgione, he was given the name of Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. Padre Pio became famous for his stigmata for most of his life. He was both beatified (1999) and canonized (2002) by Pope St. John Paul II. The Sanctuary of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina is located in San Giovanni Rotondo, Province of Foggia, Italy. ACTS RETREAT An ACTS Retreat is a parish-based event which offers parishioners an opportunity to experience the love of Jesus Christ. The Retreat begins on a Thursday evening and ends with Sunday Mass in the parish. While utilizing prayer, service, and teaching, the ACTS Retreat meets people where they are in their spiritual journey and invites them to experience God in a manner that is both personal and communal. Throughout the weekend, participants are invited to prayerfully consider how they can respond to His love by spiritually surrendering to Jesus in order to have new life with Him. This invitation is extended through the pillars of the apostolate: Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. This experience is an opportunity for spiritual renewal and the making of many friends. Fr. Cleo invites you to prayerfully consider joining a group of people from our parish to make this spiritual retreat at the Solomon Retreat Center.
