Incarnation Columbiettes Auxiliary 8612 Dear Sister Columbiettes, It is September already where did the summer go! On August 21, we had very successful Membership Drive. We are very excited at the outcome. Our goal was 10 new members. There were five ladies who filled out applications and two took applications with them to be filled out later. After the membership drive announcement at Saturday s mass, I was asked for applications to be sent to three ladies, which I did on Monday. Also, two members asked to be reinstated. Thus, we gave out 10 applications; signed up five new members, gave out five applications and brought in two members to be reinstated for a total of 12 candidates. We have scheduled a 1 st Degree installation for the new members at our October 13, membership meeting. Our first Board of Officer s meeting was canceled due to rain and flooding in the Bay Area. We rescheduled the Officer s Meeting for September 6, in St. Francis Room #1. We have many ideas on the agenda for the months of September and October. These two months are going to be very busy. The first membership meeting will be held on September 8, in St Francis Room #1. The installation of Officer s will take place at the beginning of the meeting, followed by a Social Time and the Business Meeting. On October 4, we will have our Board of Officer s Meeting and 1 st Degree Installation practice for new members. On October 13, at the Membership Meeting we hold the 1 st Degree Installation of new members. A Social Time and Business Meeting to follow. Pat Messina, District Deputy, will join us for this special event. We look forward to welcoming our new members into our Auxiliary. A GARAGE SALE is scheduled for Saturday, October 15. Friday, October 14, 9:00 AM Noon will be set up. The garage sales will run from 7:00 AM 1:00 PM on the 15 th of October. We are taking donated items prior to set up on the 14 th. Should you have something you would like to donate, please contact Alma Shamblin at 813 886-9365 or e-mail me at afshamblin@aol.com to arrange for a drop-off time. Our first West Florida Chapter Columbiettes Meeting for this year will be at St. Anthony s Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd. Brooksville, FL 334601 on September 10, at 10:30 am. Four voting delegates from our Auxiliary will be attending. This a great way to share fellowship and ideas with Columbiette sisters from other Auxiliaries in our Chapter. All Auxiliary #8612 members are encouraged to attend. We will be carpooling where space is available. Our Florida State President, Lucille Meyers asks that we join her in welcoming our new Auxiliary, St. Cloud- Kissimmee #6624 to the Florida State Columbiettes! This new Auxiliary was instituted on August 27th, 2017 with (22) members. Most of the Florida State Officers attended along with Supreme Vice President, Veronica Albert, Supreme Director Johanna Anzalone, and Supreme Director Shirley Gayford. It was a wonderful day and we are so happy to have this new Auxiliary with us. Their new President is Jenise Rabeau We all look forward to a rewarding working relationship. I am asking that each and every member make a dedicated effort to attend the monthly meetings. We need your input on many ideas and projects that are planned for this year. Each of you has much to offer our Auxiliary in serving our Church and Community. May God Bless each of you and lead you to our monthly meeting. Thank you. AND MORE! My Dear Brothers in Christ, Welcome to (Saint) Pope John XXIII Assembly 2984 (www.assembly2984.com) where something is always happening right here in Tampa, Florida. A legend in his own time Msgr. Higgins has joined our Lord. Truly, a great Priest known for his charitable work and putting St. Lawrence on our Diocese map. Many of us enjoyed his wisdom. It will be hard to fill his shoes. It is with a heavy heart that our longtime friend Sir Knight Robert Silah passed away last week. A retired Captain in the U.S. Navy practiced his Patriotism as Chairman of Operation Helping Hand serving military families here in Tampa. We will miss you Bob and THANK YOU for all that you have done. You are in our Lord's arms with Mary by your side. Please pray a rosary for him. Obviously, our Honor Guard was very busy in August. Maybe, now is your hour, to wear regalia and carry your sword to honor Christ and His Apostles. The next 4TH DEGREE EXEMPLIFICATION will be in Orlando on Thanksgiving weekend. What better time to

take the final step and join the highest level of membership in the Knights of Columbus. Contact your Membership Director for details or go to our Assembly's web site www.assembly2984.com. Our next General Assembly Meeting will be held on Monday, September 19th @ 7:30pm in the Family Center at St. Paul's Catholic Church. One of the important discussions will be the Captain's Dinner to be held in October. Try to make it and don't forget to bring some stuff for our Vets. Cricket & I hope to see all of you golfers at St. Paul's Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 22nd @ Northdale Golf Club where we will be the judges for the "hole in one" sponsored by Ed Morse Cadillac.
