Worship Service Meditation Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen. Prelude Welcome and Announcements Dr. Barry Cureton Silent Prayer of Preparation Song of Ascent Lord, I Need You Matt Maher Lord, I come, I confess Bowing here I find my rest Without You I fall apart You re the One that guides my heart Chorus Lord, I need You, oh, I need You Every hour I need You My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You Where sin runs deep Your grace is more Where grace is found is where You are And where You are, Lord, I am free Holiness is Christ in me (to chorus) Bridge Teach my song to rise in You When temptation comes my way And when I cannot stand I ll fall on You Jesus, You re my hope and stay (to chorus)

Ending You re my one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need you My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need you Call to Worship Psalm 96:1-10 *Hymn of Praise Ye Servants of God #136 *Invocation *The Lord s Prayer pg. xii Confession of Sin Psalm 51: 1-17 Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, and You only have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight that You may be found just when You speak and blameless when You judge. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts; and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness; that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart These O God, You will not despise.

(repeat) (to chorus after 2x) CCLI 578579 Offertory He Giveth More Grace Linda Runkles Arr. Mark Hayes He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength as the labors increase; To added afflictions He addeth His mercy, To multiplied trials He multiplies peace. [Refrain:] His love has no limits, His grace has no measure, His power no boundary known unto men; For out of His infinite riches in Jesus He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

FOCUS ON MISSIONS Liberty PCA Missionary Update: We have supported Stephen & Berenice Rarig, missionaries with MTW, for over 20 years in western Australia (Perth). In that time, they have started a seminary, trained pastors from many denominations, grown their presbytery, as well as working with other denominations to reach people with the Gospel. Further, Berenice has not only developed as a well-known Christian artist, mentoring others, but also using the Arts as a means to communicate the Gospel to cultures around the world and use Christian Art to influence it, to the Glory of God! Through the Lord s miraculous hand, they have worked themselves out of a job in Australia, i.e. God has raised up leaders through their efforts to carry on the work without them. God has given them a new challenge: To rebirth the Church in the South Pacific. The Rarigs have set up a team to revitalize and regrow the church there, including using the Arts to engage the culture. It is just beginning. They reported this to us last Sunday night, at the Ice Cream social. However, they have a significant need to refill support reserve (MTW Project 16501) of $9000; they do not have enough money to get paid in October. If you wish to help them with this need, you can designate money to Missions Rarigs in the regular Sunday offering or make a contribution on line at the MTW website. There, you can also read about the Project, using the MAKE Collective (project 96232); they need $18,000 more to get a matching grant. They have other needs as well, that a Missions Committee member can tell you about (like the Time Piece Art fund). Please pray for them: 1) For God to guide them is the birthing of this new ministry, 2) raising the funds to get it started, 3) preparing to travel back.

A SCUF REUNION! If you were involved in the SCUF group led by Mark and Carolyn Hammett, we would love to reconnect with you at a reunion on September 29th, 3 to 7 p.m., at St. Stephen s Church. For the reunion, we are asking each person OR family to bring a side dish to share. The main dish, desserts and drinks will be provided for a small fee. Single: $8 Couple: $15 Family: $25 To RSVP, please mail a check to Mark Hammett, 6034 Oakland Mills Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784. Please direct questions to Carolyn Hammett at stamping@qis.net. SPOTLIGHT ON LIBERTY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL This month, Liberty Christian School welcomed 180 children as it began its thirty-eighth year as a ministry of Liberty Church. God has blessed the school with consistent enrollment, financial stability and tremendous teachers and staff. Our mission continues to be: Partnering with Christian parents to provide a quality Christ centered education. It is a blessing to minister to these children that God has given us to love, educate and to share the Gospel with. This summer major improvements were made to the school. We renovated several classrooms, the media center and the office. We were able to enhance security and beautify the landscape in the front of the school. We would like to see the church and school become more involved with each other since the school is a ministry of the church. To that end, we are having a luncheon for the congregation in the school following the worship service on LCS Sunday, October 14 th. It will be an opportunity for all to see the improvements to the school and to meet some of the teachers, parents and students of LCS. We also are planning a worship service for the church and the school on Friday night October 19 th. Please pray for the school, that it would have the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere. (II Cor. 2:14)
