2 Worship Service Meditation Psalm 42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. Prelude Welcome and Announcements Dr. Barry Cureton Ministry Minute Pulpit Search Committee Ted Peiffer Silent Prayer of Preparation Song of Ascent Nothing Without You Norman/Dane Praise Team Take my hands and lift them up For I have not the strength to praise You near enough See I have nothing, I have nothing Without You And take my voice and pour it out Let it sing the songs of mercy I have found For I have nothing, I have nothing Without You Chorus And all my soul needs is all Your love to cover me So all the world will see that I have nothing without You Take my body and build it up May it be broken as an offering of love For I have nothing, I have nothing Without You All my soul needs is all Your love to cover me So all the world will see that I have nothing
3 But I love You with all my heart With all my soul with all my mind And with all the strength that I can find Take my time here on this earth And let it glorify all that You are worth For I am nothing, I am nothing Without You Call to Worship Psalm 135:1-7, 13, 14, *Hymn of Praise Exalt the Lord #12 *Invocation Confession of Sin Nehemiah 1:5b-11a O LORD God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of Your servant that I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel Your servants, confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against You. Even I and my father's house have sinned. We have acted very corruptly against You and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules that You commanded Your servant Moses. Remember the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples, but if you return to me and keep My commandments and do them, though your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there I will gather them and bring them to the place that I have chosen, to make My name dwell there. They are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power and by your strong hand. O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to fear Your name, and give success to Your servant today, and grant Him mercy in the sight of this man. Amen. Words of Assurance Psalm 121

7 Genesis 41:50-57 Sermon Scripture 50 And to Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him. 51 Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father s house. 52 And the name of the second he called Ephraim: For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction. 53 Then the seven years of plenty which were in the land of Egypt ended, 54 and the seven years of famine began to come, as Joseph had said. The famine was in all lands, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. 55 So when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread. Then Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, Go to Joseph; whatever he says to you, do. 56 The famine was over all the face of the earth, and Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold to the Egyptians. And the famine became severe in the land of Egypt. 57 So all countries came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain, because the famine was severe in all lands.

9 ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE OFFICE Pastor Barry will be out of town Wednesday, August 15 Saturday, August 18th to bring Glenna home from Boston. NURSERY CHANGES We are now offering childcare in the Noah s Ark Room for children ages 18 months to under four years old. For insurance purposes, we must have two volunteers (who are not married to each other) in both the Noah s Ark Room and the pink nursery during each service. Due to a shortage of volunteers and infants in the 0-24 month nursery (the pink nursery), a decision has been made to combine the older infants with the toddlers in the Noah's Ark room, and we will combine volunteer forces as well! Parents are welcome to use the pink nursery during the service as an additional Comfort Room but must accompany their children since the room will be unstaffed. We are hopeful that this will only be a temporary situation and we pray to have a fully utilized 0-24 month nursery in the future! Please consider volunteering - it is a great way to get to know covenant children and families that you have not yet had the opportunity to meet. The pink nursery will be staffed for the Sunday School hour; it also has its own privacy room for nursing Moms. Please Lisa Byrd with questions: lisawbyrd@gmail.com LADIES PAINT NIGHT Wednesday, August 15 6:30 7:00 pm Light refreshments & set up 7:00 9:00 pm Painting!
