Missionary of the Month: Mark and Nancy Sheppard The Sheppard s serve with Baptist Mid Missions in Liberia, West Africa. They joined the mission in 1982 to start a radio station in Liberia and have been serving there since 1986. Their primary work now is church planting through evangelism and discipleship. They also help with church and Bible school repair projects, hospitality, helping the sick, and fostering orphans. They are able to help Liberians reach their own people with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching at Jake Memorial Baptist College and at conferences, counseling church leaders and supplying teaching materials for Bible schools. They have six children who include John-Mark, Melodie, Nathan, Heidi, Jared, and Jonah. Jared and Jonah are still at home. Jonah is a Liberian child whom they fostered and who became an official member of the family in October 2011. Prayer Requests: The recent outbreak of the Ebola virus in the region where they serve.
