IN OUR PARISH COMMUNITY Northwest Catholic School News Intentional Mindfulness ~ NWCS students participate in mindfulness daily. Faculty and staff support our students ability to self-regulate and stay focused by continuing to practice mindfulness. Twice a day, students and staff stop what they are doing and focus on one thing: mindfulness. Mindfulness is widely used for adults and children. What is mindfulness? It is the intentional, accepting, and nonjudgmental focus of one s attention on the emotions, thoughts, and sensations occurring in the present moment. What does mindfulness look like? Students participate in prayer, yoga, quiet meditation, guided imagery, mindful coloring, drumming, or mindful listening all while focusing on their breathing. We are thankful ~ As we reflect on all of God s blessings, it is you, our tri-parish community, that stands out as a symbol of hope and love. You are a gift to Northwest Catholic School a gift that transcends God s love and grace into our lives, and most profoundly, into our classrooms. Happy Thanksgiving from the Northwest Catholic School Community. Submit Christmas Memorials Donations for Christmas Memorials, in whatever amount you choose, may be placed in the collection basket or sent to the parish office anytime before December 19. Please include the legible name(s) of your departed loved one(s) to be held in memory and your name to receive credit for the donation. Identify it as Christmas Memorial. Your loved one(s) will be remembered on our Memory Wall and in the General Intercessions at the Christmas Eve Mass.
