IN OUR PARISH COMMUNITY Northwest Catholic School News Intentional Mindfulness ~ NWCS students participate in mindfulness daily. Faculty and staff support our students ability to self-regulate and stay focused by continuing to practice mindfulness. Twice a day, students and staff stop what they are doing and focus on one thing: mindfulness. Mindfulness is widely used for adults and children. What is mindfulness? It is the intentional, accepting, and nonjudgmental focus of one s attention on the emotions, thoughts, and sensations occurring in the present moment. What does mindfulness look like? Students participate in prayer, yoga, quiet meditation, guided imagery, mindful coloring, drumming, or mindful listening all while focusing on their breathing. We are thankful ~ As we reflect on all of God s blessings, it is you, our tri-parish community, that stands out as a symbol of hope and love. You are a gift to Northwest Catholic School a gift that transcends God s love and grace into our lives, and most profoundly, into our classrooms. Happy Thanksgiving from the Northwest Catholic School Community.
