News For Our Parishes S /C F C Today is the annual diocesan collection for our Seminarians, for men preparing for the Permanent Diaconate, for the ongoing formation of our clergy and for our International Priests serving in the Diocese of Greensburg. Let us all continue to pray for vocations, so that those who are called may prayerfully respond to God s invitation. Please know that your support is always appreciated, but especially now, when they face the challenge of dealing with the difficult realities of this calling after the recent Grand Jury Report. B P We will bless pets on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Thursday, October 4 th at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary (Nativity) Church. Everyone is welcome to bring their family pets. Please have your pets properly secured. Faith Formation It s time to get started and we look forward to welcoming the children and youth from the four Uniontown parishes to our 2018-2019 Faith Formation Sessions. If you have not registered, please do so this weekend! Registration forms are available on the parish website and printed copies are available in the vestibules of the four Uniontown parishes. W E T The doors of the four Uniontown Churches are opened one hour prior to the start time of the weekend liturgies. Listening Sessions With Bishop Malesic Bishop Edward C. Malesic invites every member of the Diocese of Greensburg to join him at any one of the seven listening sessions where he will be present this fall. Bishop Malesic knows that the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report and the events of the past few months have evoked a great deal of pain, sadness, confusion and uncertainty for the faithful of the Diocese of Greensburg. These seven upcoming gatherings are extremely important, enabling Bishop Malesic to be present to you, to listen to your concerns, and to respond to your questions. These sessions will give you the opportunity to express your feelings, observations and suggestions. Please attend one of these session with Bishop Malesic and allow your input to help him guide our Church as we go forward from this moment in our history as the People of God. An afternoon session will be held on Wednesday, October 31 st at Holy Family Parish, West Newton from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Evening sessions will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the following locations: Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish, Greensburg on Monday, October 22 nd ; St. Therese de Lisieux Parish, Uniontown on Wednesday, October 24 th ; St. Margaret Mary Parish, Lower Burrell on Monday, October 29 th ; St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Kittanning on Monday, November 5 th ; Mother of Sorrows Parish, Murrysville on Thursday, November 8 th ; St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, Indiana on Thursday, November 29 th. Please note that St. Therese Parish is listed as one of the sites for these listening sessions. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 24 th. The session will take place in the church at 6:30 p.m.

St. John the Evangelist Church UNIONTOWN, PA F I F P S O Are you recovering from an addiction? Do you have a family member who is fighting addiction? St. John the Evangelist Parish is pleased to host a new ministry to help those affected by addiction. Meetings will be held every Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Parish Center. The Auxiliary to the Sisters of St. Joseph would like to thank everyone who supported their Luncheon in anyway from buying tickets to making donations to attending the Luncheon. We were able to present a check to the Leadership Team for $70,000. As some of you heard from the Leadership at the Luncheon, this money supports the many ministries of the Sisters from feeding the poor and hungry to human trafficking and much more.
