He wants to make our faith strong, give us hope that endures, and a love that never grows cold. He never refuses to give his Spirit to those who ask with expectant faith. Jesus instructed his disciples to ask confidently for the gift of the Spirit: "If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" (Luke 11:13). We should thirst for God and for the abundant life he offers through the gift of his Spirit. Thank you for thinking of the families in our community who have difficulty affording this basic need. Hospitality Sunday Join us this Sunday, May 0, following the 10:30 Mass, for Hospitality Sunday in the St. Joseph s Room. Enjoy light refreshments while spending time with other parishioners. Save a Life - Reverse A Drug Overdose Thanks to quick action by medical professionals and lawmakers, including the Surgeon General of the United States, each of us now has the power to administer an effective drug against opioid overdose, quickly, safely and with legal protection under the Good Samaritan Laws in New Jersey. The drug, Narcan (naloxone) can be had without a prescription in New Jersey and used whenever circumstances dictate. We are in the grip of an opioid epidemic and while the ultimate resolution of the problem is elusive, preventing overdose deaths, including accidental ones, is simple. Holy Cross Church will sponsor an information evening and training session in cooperation with the Rumson Police Department on Tuesday, May nd, at 7:00 PM, in the St. Joseph Room of the Church. Overdoses are tragic. Let's help someone get a another chance. Holy Cross Men s Group Summer Session Join us on May 31st at 7:30 PM, our topic will be; Eucharist: Sacred Meal, Sacrifice, Real Presence Join us as we discover and celebrate what Vatican II called the "source and summit of the Christian life". Bishop Barron offers inspiring insights into the mystery of Christ's presence in our lives and the centrality of the Eucharist as an important part of that presence. This fresh look at the Eucharist brings to light its reality as sacred meal, the sacrifice necessary for communion with God, and the Real Presence of Christ. New members are welcome! Charismatic Healing Mass Please note a change in the usual schedule, there will be No Charismatic Healing Mass for the month of May. Please pass this information along to anyone you know who would regularly attend this special mass. Exposition of the Beginning next Wednesday, May 30, and continuing through the summer, Exposition of the will conclude at Noon each Wednesday.

May 0, 018 Page 3 #63 Prayer For A Family O Mary, loving Mother of Jesus, and our Mother, pray to Jesus for our family, for all the families of the world, to guard the cradle of the newborn, the schools of the young and their vocations. Blessed Saint Joseph, holy guardian of Jesus and Mary, assist us by your prayers in all the necessities of life. Ask of Jesus that special grace which He granted to you, to watch over our home at the pillow of the sick and dying, so that with Mary and you, heaven may find our family unbroken in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Amen. O Mary Immaculate, Mother of Our Savior, please hear my prayer intercede, dearest Mother to your heavenly son. Ask Him to guide me by the Gifts of The Holy Spirit so that I may give Him glory, honor and praise at the end of my days. Amen.
