Mk 9:35 Jesus teaches us that we are called to serve one another. Sacrifice is not a word that many people like to hear. We think it means that we must give up something that we want. However, the literal meaning of sacrifice is to make holy, from the words sacer = sacred and facere = to make. In other words, we make our lives holy by sharing our gifts in the service of God. Mental Health Awareness Week October 7 - October 13, 2018 Pope Francis has been very open about his mental health treatment received in the 1970s. It s not surprising that our holy Pontiff has the confidence to share his need for support and guidance from a mental health professional. Pope Francis is the world s most sought out Religious leader. Please join us in the celebration of Mass as we pray for a united and compassionate community and receive the sacrament of anointing to ease the burdens of stress, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety.
