Sunday 22nd March 2015Starting at 9.45am Cafe Service St Pauls Church On Sunday 22nd March we will be holding a Cafe Service. We meet from 9.45 am to share breakfast together. Then at 10.15 am there will be a short act of worship designed for the whole church family. This may include singing, prayer, an activity or discussion and an activity for younger members. Cafe is designed to be informal, social and thought provoking. Neil & Nathalie Alison and myself are organising crafts for Messy Church, and have planned a junk modelling activity. For this, we require materials including: Cardboard boxes like cereal boxes, Kitchen roll tubes, Yoghurt pots, Egg Boxes So would be great if people could collect a couple of bits and pieces they have at home. Many thanks, Hazel & Alison New Chairs The order has been placed for the new chairs for St. Paul s and St. Tim s. We have raised just over half the cost and are confident that the rest will come. There are special envelopes available or you can put your contribution in a plain envelope marked Chair Fund. There is also the option to pay by BACS direct transfer to our account. Please ask for details. It is proposed to place a dedication/memorial in both churches so if you would like to dedicate your donation to the memory of anyone please let me or one of the Wardens know. Regular Giving The new weekly giving envelopes are available so please collect yours if you haven't already done so. Also there is a letter of thanks for each person using the envelope scheme or standing order. If you would like to set up or change your standing order please remember to ask me for a reference number. Tony P. Tel: 520734 or e-mail tony@dorcanchurch.org.uk Once again we need cakes for Local Schools for Sunday March 22nd. They are so greatly appreciated by all the Staff and can be given to Leila at St Tims or Margaret at St. Pauls. Second request is for dressing up clothes ( Bridesmaid Dresses etc ) for a Wedding Celebration for Year 3 ( age 7 -- 8 ) We do as part of Living Church. We do a session where the Children from the Local Schools come to both centres and learn that Church isn't the Building but the people and what we do is Prayer, The Bible, Mission, Pentecost, The Building and Church Calendar. As part of this we end with a Celebration and enact A Wedding, Communion, Funeral or Baptism. Our dressing up clothes are old and tatty and would appreciate any offers. Thanks, Margaret Tel 532849

2016-2018 Diocesan Strategy and Bristol Diocesan Newsletter: The latest edition of the Diocesan newsletter is now available and do pick up a copy today. There are some reflections on the visit from ++Justin Welby to the diocesan last September and having confidence in sharing our stories of God, as well as outlining the Diocesan strategy for 2016-2018. The strategy is a bold one, with the goal of addressing how we proclaim the good news of Jesus in THIS generation. It is a strategy that asks some challenging questions and with it will ask us whether we are prepared to make some challenging and radical changes to how we do things. Whilst it is exciting, it is also a great step forward in faith. Moving the strategy from high level to what it make look like on the ground is currently being discussed at all levels in the diocese, and we have an opportunity to respond in a special meeting on Thursday April 16 th at 7:30 at Gorse Hill. This is open to all and is a chance to have your say with Oliver Home, Diocesan Secretary. Please do prayerfully consider coming along and be an active part of planning and outreach for the next few years. Chrism Eucharist at Bristol Cathedral Thursday 2 nd April 10:30 (Maundy Thursday): Traditionally this service is when we share in the traditional blessing of oils which are used in Christian initiation (e.g. baptisms) and healing. However, this service is also a unique opportunity for us all to come and pray together, share in the Lord s support and for each of us to renew our commitment to the ministries to which each one of us have been called to. A number of the Ministry team are going, and this is open to everyone and it would be lovely if a group of us were able to go together. If you would like to come, then please let Trudie know so she can let the cathedral know numbers and also perhaps link people us with car lifts (326 128). What is God saying to you this Lent? What is God saying to us as his church this Lent? As we journey through Lent in our personal devotions and reflections, our Lent course and themed preaching what might God be saying? In the days ahead please do prayerfully consider this question. One of the ways God speaks to us and prompts us is through each other, so please be encouraged to share any thoughts with others, and also with the Ministry team who are here for you. All items for inclusion in the next notices should be sent to Anna Newman by 26th March Tel: 695698 or Email: anagram673@hotmail.co.uk (please let me know if you would like to receive notices by email)
