Everyone of the baptized should feel involved in the church and social change that we so greatly need. This change calls for a personal and communal conversion that makes us see things as the Lord does. Pope Francis is telling us that the truth is the first step of healing. And he is calling us to a deeper solidarity with those who have suffered abuse at the hands of the church to truly see them and their suffering to not turn a blind eye. The Pope calls us to the time honored disciplines of prayer and penance. St. Mary s will celebrate a Mass for forgiveness Friday, September 28th at 7:30 AM. - Fr. Hoffman A Bible Study will be starting on Monday, September 17th at 6:30 pm at the Parish office in West Point. The topic for the 8 sessions will be Conversion by Father Robert Barron. The Elementary School Project is underway. This summer we saw foundation work at the Elementary School location but this past week progress on the new portion of the Elementary building has been much more visible. Beams and walls are up and quickly we will see the exterior completed. As this construction continues we will work to keep everyone updated with pictures and information. Thank you to all those who have contributed to this project. If you would still like to donate you can send your donation to the Elementary school or drop it in the collection basket in a plain envelope clearly marked as Elementary School project. Yeehaw! Holy Trinity Catholic is extremely grateful for all of our Tri-State Rodeo volunteers. The great response and hard work of our volunteers is a testament to the devotion of our families and our communities. It really is a blessing to have our local Catholic school families come together in our shared commitment of faith in education. All of this effort goes a long way in keeping our tuition costs low. Thank you to all those who attended A Call to Holiness last Sunday night. We were blessed to have Chuck and Alicia Brock join us. We began the evening with Mass celebrate by Fr. Bruce with Chuck and Alicia leading us in song. We shared in a light snack and a time of fellowship in the Ossenbrink center before returning to the church for an evening of music and reflection on Pope Francis letter Rejoice and Be Glad. Chuck and Alicia are part of a national group, Carrick Ministries who share the Catholic faith in parishes around the United States. One daily resource provided by this ministry is Here I am Lord The Catholic app, that can be downloaded to your tablet or smartphone and includes daily readings, inspirational videos and songs, a prayer line and more.
