PART-TIME JANITORIAL POSITION OPENING: St. Patrick Church in Cedar Rapids is looking to employ an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Janitor. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine and special projects, as the need arises. Must be experienced in all areas of cleaning, be able to lift and set large tables/chairs, handle sidewalk snow removal, grass mowing and other exterior work, possess a friendly and personable nature, work well on their own, be fully reliable and trustworthy. Individuals who are interested are asked to contact Fr. Nienhaus (319-362-7966). We are reforming THE LITURGY COMMITTEE and are looking for parish representation. The Liturgy Committee is a standing committee of the Parish dedicated to the promotion of active participation in worship. The Mission of the Liturgy Committee is to offer the people of St. Patrick Parish worship experiences which foster a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. We strive for our parish s liturgical prayer life to be reverent, beautiful, and joyful in the Lord. This Committee will meet once a month and meetings will be one hour in length. Faith grows when it is well expressed in celebration. Good celebrations can foster and nourish faith. Poor celebrations may weaken it. Call Cindy at the Parish Office if you would like to be on this Committee. CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS will have their Christmas party Tuesday night, December 13th at 6:30 at the Pizza Ranch 2450 Westdale Drive SW. Bring a wrapped White Elephant gift and a baby gift for Birthright. Bring a mat if you have one, a water bottle, and wear comfortable clothing. Suggested donation is $5.00 per class. 3 GRIEF AND LOSS A CATHOLIC BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM: Grief is a normal response to the loss of someone important to us and can feeling like a roller coaster ride that impacts your feelings, thoughts, physical sensations, behaviors and spiritually. If you have lost someone and would like to join others in faith filled, guided discussions, you are invited to register for the upcoming Grief and Loss session that will be held here at St. Patrick beginning January 13 th and ending February 17 th. The group will meet on Thursday afternoons, 1:30 3:00, in the Adult Education Wing. We ask that participants allow at least 6 months since their loss before attending. Registration forms can be found on the church bulletin boards, on the parish web site, or contact Penny Ackerman at the parish office. Aging religious need your help. Senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests have offered their lives in service to others--- educating the young, comforting the sick, and seeking justice for the oppressed.
