I am very thankful for all the well wishes. A lot has happened. We have ordered 4 cases of coats for kids that should arrive shortly. We will be collecting for the Laundry basket drive at the Local churches and at the Hall during bingo staring this coming week. Our annual membership drive will happen on November 5 th at all masses. I will need volunteers to read about us at the churches. Call me if you wish to participate. When the speakers are there please be present to support him and be wear your badge and a jacket and tie to look presentable. We have a lot of members who are still first degree. I would to have all of you achieve your 2 nd and 3 rd degrees. I understand that life happens but I am hoping that you can find the time to receive your next degrees. Later in the newsletter I will post the time schedules for the degrees. If you need a ride we will find a way to help you. The State Ball was a great Success. It was very well attended. It has been mentioned that we should move it to the weekend after Columbus Day Holiday. Many members go camping that weekend and are unable to attend but would like to. The state council agrees with the change. Starting with this month s officer meeting. The state has asked that only the officers attend these meeting. I am asking that all others members please refrain from coming until the 7pm at the regular business meeting. With the help of our Financial Secretary John Cowles, Richard Breton, Roger Hayford and myself we have been able to eliminate an IRS fee. John is continually working with our CPA to keep everything up to date as is required by law. He is doing an excellent job. I want to thank everyone for all their efforts in meeting all of our requirements.

Home Corporations Church bulletins All Saints Day & All souls Day Supreme is trying to eliminate home corporations, which is what we have at council 2048. It was mentioned that we are not in supposed to be the building business. They are trying to get all members to have their meetings in the local churches. If we were to do this Bingo as we know would be gone. I am going to contact our churches and ask if we can put our contact information in the bulletins so if someone to contact its there. It is a good way anyone who might be interested to be able to contact us. The only thing that would change is the contact information of the Grand Knight when a he is elected. On November 2,2017 The reading of the Deceased Members will be read and I ask for any member that can attend to please do so. Lets show other parishioners how dedicated we are. Please dress in a shirt and tie and wear your name badge. I am sorry that I can t attend because I will be in Pennsylvania at family wedding. Deceased Members Message From the State Council Next Month we will honor those who have passed on and pray for the families and friends left behind. They asked us how many members do you have in your council and how many are active. The general response from almost every council was between 15 and 20 percent participate are active. They want us to look at our list and see who are 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees. Next find out who s not coming and divide up that list and see if you can get them to come. Some work nights and some don t like to drive at night, so pick them up. Let s make an effort to increase our attendance to have at least 30 or more in attendance. On A Personal Note Take our council for example, we have about 158 members. I normally see about 20 or so at our meetings. I would like to see that doubled. Once this list is created, I am asking everyone to please take up to 3 names and contact them and simply say I haven t seen you in a while. Why don t you come to the meetings? We could use your past experience and your input on ideas to assist our churches and community. We are always looking for ways to help our community. If you need a ride we will find one for you. It s only about an hour or so a month. That s an example; use your own words. Our hall floor has been refinished and looks almost like new. Our kitchen has had many improvements too. We have rented the hall many times since the cleanup and we are receiving a lot of positive comments. Hopefully we will have a business after hour s event to show the local companies our new look. We will also hope to have a day open to the public day where the community can come to see our establishment and what it has to offer. Summer is over and fall is upon us. You know what that means: raking leaves, final mowing, getting the snow blower ready for this winter etc. I sincerely hope you all had a wonderful summer. Fall is a beautiful time of the year with all the colors. The next holiday is Halloween to be followed by Thanksgiving. That is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Family s get together, great food, children laughing etc. Take the time to really think what you are thankful for. If it wasn t for our founding fathers we wouldn t here. Many take that for granted. Thank you to all of our veterans from all wars and conflicts for your service past and present. Our children and grandchildren deserve to live a good life, lets help them by doing our best to improve what we have now. Shake the hand of a Veteran. Help the less fortunate. Feed the hungry. Clothe the poor. Finally Give Thanks For All That You Have God Bless You And God Bless the United States of America
