WESTMINSTER CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL FOUNDED BY THE JESUIT FATHERS CIRCA 1849 NEWSLETTER 8TH JUNE 2018 LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU JOHN 13:34 Yesterday during the Liturgy before we were given a blessing by Canon Pat we said together the Divine Praises. Please spend some time reading and reflecting on each of the words. Blessed be God. Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man. Blessed be the name of Jesus. Blessed be His most Sacred Heart. Blessed be His most precious blood. Blessed be Jesus in the most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. (Blessed be Jesus in the poorest of the poor) Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete. Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy. Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception. Blessed be her glorious Assumption. Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother. Blessed be Saint Joseph, Her most chaste spouse. Blessed be God, in His angels and in His saints. Dear parents and carers, Corpus Christi Yesterday we went to Holy Apostles for our Corpus Christi Liturgy. Years 5 and 6 attended the weekday Mass and the rest of the school entered the Church at 10am. Once all the children were settled, Canon Pat entered the Church looking very grand in his gold robe. We all knelt as Canon Pat went to the tabernacle and placed the Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance. After each prayer was read we had a time of silence and reflection in front of the Blessed Sacrament, time for us to be at peace in the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I was so proud of the whole school, in particular our younger children who showed through their actions and behaviour their understanding of the importance of Corpus Christi. Each class produced a poster to illustrate the feast of Corpus Christi. These posters will be on display in the school hall for you to see during assemblies or any school events. I would like to thank Miss Simmons for coordinating the posters and the class teachers for inspiring us with their artistic talents. Thank you to the parents who attended yesterday s service. I hope you agree with me that leaving the Church singing brought much joy to our school, the congregation and those living along Cumberland Street! Mrs Stacey
