Knights of Columbus - Fourth Degree - Marquette Assembly #11 97 Knights Knews March 201 5 Faithful Friar's Message Dear Brother Knights, For more than 60 years I have avoided putting any kind of sticker on the windows of my car, except for the ones required by law. This year, however, I freely posted the one circulated in support of the Year of Consecrated Life: Wake Up the World. The message comes from Pope Francis, who wants all of us, not just members of religious orders and communities, to wake up the world to God. We can keep his message in mind as we enter the season of Lent. Whatever resolutions we make this Lent can be aimed, not just at our own personal well being, but also at supporting the spread of the Gospel. God bless, Bishop Banks Faithful Navigator's Message Our monthly social was held on February 10th at Rock Gardens. We had the pleasure of being joined by Bishop Banks and Father Pete Renard, who did our opening and closing prayers. Along with them, we had a total attendance of 48 Knights and Ladies. All the Ladies were presented with a rose by their spouses, in honor of their years together. SK Rod Klingbeil introduced Tony Pichler as our guest speaker for the night. Tony told of all the time and effort put into finding just the right daytime location for the homeless and needy people in our area. This took about one and a half years to get this place, due to the different hang ups. But the Lord was with us and they found a way to help the homeless. There are so many who face hardships, especially during these cold winter months. more on page 2 Faithful Navigator SK Charles Bornemann (920) 660-1 300 cbornemann@sbcglobal.net Faithful Friar SK Most Rev. We have over eighty members who have not and Second Notices sent to over eighty members who have not paid their dues. I am happy to report though that we have reached 61% of our goal in raffle sales; please consider buying, selling or donating. Last year we received a rebate of over $600.00 which was used to support a local seminarian. Don t forget April exemplification is coming up! Your Grand Knights should be receiving a letter and registration form from the Eastern District Master. Please convey to your Grand Knight that these forms and the membership application Form 4 needs to be sent to the Assembly Comptroller, not to the Master.
