Some may feel that this isn t necessary. Some may feel uncomfortable about approaching someone with the topic. Whatever the case may be, we all need to take a part in this. We need to make our presence known and felt. We need to make people realize that we are here to support our priest, our parish, and our community.
Family Committee Chair: Dick Hansen The Family program will begin selling Knights of Columbus KCIC (Keep Christ in Christmas) Cards in November. These are beautiful cards that are available in multiple languages, and that also capture the true meaning behind Christmas. Chairman and Co-Chair Dick Hansen and Paul Mernaugh, are also working closely with the Grand Knight and Father Peter to find or, if possible, create a program to replace the Shoebox program that was headed by our late brother Wynn Podzsus. Church Committee Chair: Jim Senko Jim Senko, Chair of our Church Committee Program, but also the founder behind our beloved Meditation Park continually needs help in maintaining the park. Recently they had a bout of poisonous hemlock that needed to be taken care of. Although steps have been taken, their is much that can be done to help remedy this in the future. Presently, Jim is currently making preparations to install the Late Father Hightower s Gateway to Heaven in the park. If you would like to contribute in any way, please contact Jim Senko Community Committee Chair: Christiaan Garcia The next event in our Community Program will be a guest speaker from Pierce College. George Scheffe, International Housing Manager at Pierce College will be talking about the benefits of hosting an international student. This will be after our next general meeting, August 21 st. The Community Program is also gearing up for the Annual Steilacoom Apple Squeeze, where we host the corn booth. This is a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Please contact Christiaan Garcia if you have any questions, or if you would like to help out.
