Notice from the Property Committee: As you may know, Dick and Carolyn usually lock the back door of the church about ten minutes into the service for security reasons, so that people cannot sneak into the building unnoticed. Also the sanctuary and class rooms are locked before they leave the building. What they have noticed lately is that some of the doors are opened again by people and are not locked again after they leave the room and what concerns them most is that the back door is unlocked again. Because of the recently missing articles Please be sure that all "rooms" are locked again before you leave the church. Also check the outside doors as they have also been found to be left unlocked! Thank you for your cooperation. WE: The Epic Story Event: Join us for the next WE event on Sunday, March 02 beginning at 5pm. In this event we will be celebrating the fact that the King of Kings comes to rescue his people and reclaim his creation. Join in the fun and gather together to share a meal, live into the story with an activity at your table, praise God with song and have a time of fellowship together. A sign-up sheet is on the table in the foyer. Sign up today and join us as we celebrate and have a birthday party for Jesus!! THANK-YOU: We want to take a moment to convey our deep gratitude for your participation in Angel Tree Christmas 2013. The generosity of our volunteers and sponsors blessed children across the country, from coast to coast to coast in every province and territory. It was really humbling to interact with each of you, hear some of your motivations for participating and your reactions to the notes written by inmates to their children. Angel Tree Christmas is a heartbreaking but important ministry. Your encouragement and passion for it keeps us going. We hope that you found your experience to be a meaningful one and that you will consider participating again with us for Christmas 2014 (it's a long way off now, but trust us, it will be here before you know it.). Please know that this program means an incredible amount to those it serves: inmates, their children and their families. As one chaplain told us about the inmates she serves, "the women are over the moon in the knowledge that their children will receive gifts." As you journey through 2014 we pray that you continue to live out the spirit of service to which God has called us. In Hope, The Angel Tree Team WORLD RENEW DRS: Volunteer in High River, Alberta, where flooding in June 2013 left many homes unsafe to inhabit.world Renew Disaster Response Services (DRS) is helping families who need it most and cannot rebuild on their own. World Renew has already provided emergency food, water, kitchen utensils, hygiene items, sleeping mats, mosquito nets, kitchen stoves, fuel, generators, and trauma counseling to 3,973 families. We are now entering phase three of our response which will include supplying fishing boats and nets for those who lost livelihoods and rebuilding damaged homes. For more information or to watch a short powerpoint presentation about the first three months of this response, visit worldrenew.net/haiyan. GEMS - Get Connected (GEMS) Camp is looking for young women (college-age) to serve as counsellors for one incredible week (Aug 2-8, 2014). Do you know someone who is done high school, loves Jesus, and would be a great leader for a group of middle school girls? Get her to apply at gemsgc.org under the "Events" tab. An honorarium will be given upon completion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ** If unable to help on the date scheduled please switch with someone or find a replacement.
