Parish Bulletin Our Music Ministry is tasked with providing music for our Sunday and weekday masses and for major feasts such as last year s Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception to the recently concluded Fiesta 2016. To make masses more meaningful, we strive to choose liturgically-relevant songs that fit the season (e.g. Lent, Easter), and we have started a music catalog and digital archive to facilitate this endeavor, which we plan to eventually expand to selecting songs for weddings and other church-based events. July 31, 2016 Pope Francis reminds us that praying the Rosary prepares our hearts to receive God s grace and teaches us to place ourselves in the hands of God, allowing him to guide our steps along the path of our faith journey. Praying the Rosary allows us to make room for God, to glorify his name, and to make him truly present in our lives. The power of praying the rosary has proven to protect, to heal and to grant requests. Here are some inspiring stories, which we may be able to relate to in one way or another. the worship ministries Novenas and Devotions The Power of the Rosary by Marie Tycangco A member of the Single Young Adults (SYA) community was starting to lose hope in finding a partner in life. When she went to confession, the priest told her to pray the rosary twice a day and she will find her husband within three months. She then started patiently praying the rosary even as the three months has passed and with God s grace, she found him in five months. They are now happily married and continue to pray together. On January 15, 1978, Bundy entered the Chi Omega sorority house at Florida State University and murdered two girls before heading off to search for more victims. When he entered a third girl s room with a bat for a weapon, he saw a rosary clutched in her hand, dropped the bat and fled. Later the girl told authorities that before she left for college Stations of the Cross Stations of the Cross she had promised her grandmother that she would pray the rosary every night for protection, even if she fell asleep in the process. This is what she had done that night, and she was still holding the rosary when the murderer entered her room. Bundy later confessed to over thirty murders. Bundy explained that when he entered the girl s room, he had fully intended on murdering her; some mysterious power was preventing him. In October, 1938, Fr. Patrick Peyton started coughing blood and doctors discovered he had advanced stages of Tuberculosis, which was incurable in those days. His sister Nellie encouraged him to ask our Holy Mother for help. Patrick consecrated himself completely to Mary and devoted himself to praying the rosary. The doctors discovered that the patches on his lungs had disappeared with no scientific explanation. With this miraculous cure through the rosary of our Holy Mother, Father Peyton vowed to Mary that he would promote the rosary all his life. The SSAP Worship and Devotions committee would like to invite everyone to join the community in praying the rosary before the 6:00am, 7:30am and 6:00pm Mass from Monday-Friday and before the 12:15pm Mass from Monday to Saturday, as well as join in the other activities.
