Faith & Family Formation Suggested text for faith sharing: Today s 1st Reading from Isaiah Second Sunday in Advent God s kingdom is at hand - it is here. What image in Isaiah lingers in your memory? What in this reading touches your heart? Beyond toys and other things, what do you hope will happen in your family this Christmas? What are the greatest challenges you face as a young person today in terms of allowing Christ to be your teacher and following him? Name the one thing in your life which you must move out of the way in order to make more room for Christ a grudge, a possession, a memory, hurt, or feeling. TheStockingbagswillbecollectedinthe Narthex the weekend of December 10 and 11. Thank you for your generosity! FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION is celebrated on Thursday, December 8th This is a holy day of obligation. Masses are: Wednesday, December 7th: 5:00pm Thursday, December 8th 8:00am, 12noon, 7:00pm More Beautiful Songs from Fr. David!, former associate pastor here at St. Mary s, has completed the recording of his CD project for 2016. Anyone who remembers him knows how beautifully he sings! The songs were chosen based on their lovely melodies and the stories they tell, so the CD is called, Memories Linger On. He learned the tunes in Ireland; some are Irish, but not all. After hearing about the charitable work accomplished with last year s CD, A Child is Born, several top Irish musicians came forward and offered to share their musical gifts along with Fr. David to create this new CD. It contains over 60 minutes of music with a surprising variety of musical styles and messages. The cost of the CD is $15, and all proceeds of the sale will once again be donated to charity at Christmas. If you are interested in purchasing Memories Linger On please email your request to me at: trishstm@gmail.com with FrDavidCD in the subject. We also have a VERY limited supply of his Christmas CD A Child is Born available.
