Marriage Minute Advice & Aid Pregnancy Centers will host the 12th annual Walk for Life Saturday, June 4th at 8:30a.m. in the Foxhill Medical Building located at 4601 W. 109th Street (435/Roe). Come join us in the 2016 Walk for Life and raise awareness of a life-affirming message in our community. The walk is a fun, family friendly event with children s activities, prizes, prayer and even an appearance by Sluggerrr from the Royals; the route is easy (less than 2 miles) so strollers and dogs welcome! To register online and for additional information, visit http://www.aapcwalk.org. This Sunday, St. Paul reminds us that the Gospel he preached was of divine origin. As it was true for Paul 2000 years ago, it is true for the Church today. Nowhere is this more relevant than in the current cultural debate about marriage and human sexuality. While there is much misunderstanding and misinformation over what we believe as Catholics, an important point is that we do not have the power to change what we did not create. Marriage certainly has a human component, but it has a divine design. Like most things, if we do not understand an aspect of Catholic teaching, it is good to sincerely seek the authentic teaching rather than the stereotype that popular culture perpetuates. The intimate community of life and love which constitute the married state has been established by the Creator and endowed by him with its own proper laws God himself is the author of marriage Marriage is not a purely human institution. (CCC1603) We felt like we did when we were first married! See why over 700 couples in the Archdiocese have experienced the Living in Love retreat. Sign up now for the next Living in Love retreat held at Mater Dei Parish, Topeka, KS, June 11-12, 2016. Register online at www.archkck.org/livinginlove or contact Mary Anne Kierl at the Archdiocese at 913-647-0345 for information.
