OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Growing In Faith Together (G.I.F.T.) Dear Parishioners, Congratulations to Adalyn Schmidt, daughter of Jennifer and Colby, and Kodi Kelley, daughter of Alex and Sarah, who were baptized this last weekend. May they grow in grace and favor. I also ask your prayers of the repose of the soul of my mom s brother Jerry, who died Sunday evening. He lived in Oregon, so at the time of writing this, I am doubtful of getting there for the funeral, but I will be offering a Mass for him in the future. He was 78, and these last months he was ill and had a form of dementia. Twenty years ago, I had an opportunity to stay with him and his wife Jean (who died about 2 years later) and got to know them well. He remarried, and she died about 2 years ago. Our sympathy also to the family and friends of Kim Olson, who died last week. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. This week is finally here. We welcome Deacon Ralph Poyo who is with us for our Area Faith Community Mission. I am absolutely certain that these days will be filled with grace for us, and I look forward to witnessing the gathering of the fruits in the future. Please come to the evening sessions, and invite others especially neighbors and friends, but even enemies!!! This week we, we focus on the corporal work of mercy, to shelter the homeless. We are blessed to have an activity Habitat For Humanity chapter working in our corner of the county, and both monetary and time and talent support help us respond to this work. We also seek ways to raise awareness of homelessness yes, we have homeless people in our area. It can result from a wide range of issues form evictions and destructions of homes, to loss of jobs, running away from home, or mental illness. Our aid can go to the homeless shelter in Mankato, as well as the women s crisis centers as so many escape domestic abuse situations. Perhaps, too, we might seek ways to aid Christian refugees from Syria and Iraq who are being displaced by the persecutions from ISIS. In Christ, Fr. Todd J. Petersen ================================================================= WEEKLY SCHEDULE January 10 January 17, 2016 Baptism of the Lord, January 10, 2016 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 10 AM Mass (+Bernie Depuydt), St. Peter 10 AM, Preschool Grade 1, Faith Formation 11AM Coffee & Donuts, Social Hall 11 AM Holy Family Icon Prayer Service, Chapel 1 PM KC Free Throw Contest, Gym 7-8:30 PM LifeTeen, Social Hall 7 PM Parish Mission with Deacon Ralph Poyo Monday 8 AM Mass (+Charles Mulloy), Chapel 9AM Bible Study, Family Room 7PM AFC Parish Mission Tuesday 8 AM Mass (+Vince Dumdei), Chapel 3 PM School Choir, Band room 7PM AFC Parish Mission Wednesday 8 AM Mass, Nicollet 8:15 School Prayer, Church 6:30-8 PM Faith Formation 6:30PM EDGE, Social Hall 6:30 PM Sanctuary Choir, Band Room 7PM AFC Parish Mission Thursday 9:30 AM School Mass, (+Jerry Baune) 1-10 PM Eucharistic Adoration, Chapel 3:30 PM Confessions, Chapel 6:30 PM RCIA, Family Room Friday 8 AM Mass (+Suzanne Putz) Chapel

Our Adult Bible Study is about to begin again. We meet on Monday mornings at 9:00 A.M, beginning on January 4, 2016. This year we are alternating with looking at the Sunday Scriptures one week and going through the Bible Study, Mary, Jesus mother and ours. Here is the opening paragraph of the book. After centuries of employing patriarchs, prophets, kings, and sages in his saving plan for humanity, God reached the point in which he needed an extraordinary humble and reliable person to carry out his crucial mission. For this task he chose someone who in today s world, might not be old enough to get a driver s permit and certainly would not be allowed to travel to World Youth without a chaperone. We are talking, of course, of Mary of Nazareth. We invite anyone who is interested to come, check out if this is what you might be interested in. Everyone is welcome! For further information please call Terry at 934-4503. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 2016 MCCL March For Life Come to the Minnesota State Capital on Friday, January 22 to join others across our state to pray for justice.
