J.M.J. June 15, 2017 Dear Parishioners of Holy Name of Jesus, Today I was officially informed by Cardinal Dolan that I am transferred to St. Augustine Church, Larchmont, NY effective June 15, 2017. This transfer was in consultation with our Pastor, Father Michael Challinor, Monsignor Thomas R. Kelly, Pastor of St. Augustine, and Deacon James Bello, Director of Diaconal Life and Ministry. Of course, the Cardinal and his office was an integral part of this assignment. This assignment is graciously accepted by me. As you know, Deacons are ordained to serve the people of the Archdiocese of New York and promise obedience to the local ordinary (Archbishop). Presently, there is no deacon assigned to St. Augustine and my appointment was most welcomed by Monsignor Kelly. For the past 23 years, I have been one of your deacons at Holy Name. I have been abundantly blest serving you and your families all these years here at Holy Name. Louise and I have been richly blest. I will miss you very much - a people with welcoming hearts and attitudes. Of course, I thank Father Michael, Father Francis and Deacon Carmine for their support in this new chapter of my clerical life. Also, it has been a joy working with the Parish Secretary, Ann Marie Monteleone, and Catherine Francese, Director of Religious Education. I will especially miss the Altar Servers (and their parents) who faithfully serve at the Lord s Table every Sunday. I will still continue to teach deacon candidates at the Seminary in addition to being the Director of Catholic Identity for the Archdiocese of New York Central Westchester Regional Schools.
