Therefore, help us to keep our focus on you, Lord, for true power and steadfast love belong to you. Amen. Prayer of Confession Forgiving God, we repent of all the ways we turn from you. By that sacrifice we are justified before God, for we cannot be acceptable to God or receive adoption unless God pardons our sins and covers them over. So we confess that Jesus Christ is our full and perfect cleansing. In his death we are fully justified, acquitted of the offenses and iniquities of which we are guilty. We can be delivered by this remedy only. Annual Meeting of the Congregation January 25, 11am, Fellowship Hall The Session has called the annual meeting of the congregation on Sunday, January 25, in Fellowship Hall following worship that morning. There will be one worship service that morning at 10am. Sunday School will be at 9am. After the lunch and brief review of the life and ministry of our church in 2014, we will hold the annual business meeting. At the meeting we will: - Elect five members-at-large to the 2015 Officer Nominating Committee, - Elect the Corporation President and Treasurer, - Review the pastors terms of call, and - Conduct other business as needed. Please think in advance of the meeting about nominations to the 2015 Officer Nominating Committee. Jeff Snider s Voice Recital at UNT on January 25 Jeff Snider, St. Andrew s new director of music, will present a vocal recital in Voertman Hall in the Music School building on the UNT campus at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 25. Jeff is on the vocal faculty at UNT and will be accompanied on the piano by his professional colleague Elvia Puccinelli. The recital is free and open to the public. You might also want to note on your calendars that Jeff will be featured as a baritone soloist with the UNT Concert Orchestra in a performance of Mozart s Coronation Mass on Wednesday, March 4 and with the UNT Symphony in a performance of Vaughn Williams Five Mystical Songs on Wednesday, April 29. Both of the orchestral concerts will start at 8 p.m. in the Murchison Performing Arts Center. Women s Winter Retreat Friday, January 30-Saturday, January 31 Join us at the Prothro Center at Lake Texoma as Marliyn Dixon leads us in her topic--on the Way: God s Dream for Us. Please register for the retreat online at www.saint-andrew.com/womens-retreat. New Columbarium Niches in St. Andrew s Columbarium will be available beginning January 29. Forty niches are available, each is able to hold two people s cremains. Cost for a niche is $1,000.00. You can select your niche by stopping by the church office and completing the paperwork here. Contact Lou Korom or Jim White at 940-387-3897 for more information. CPR/AED Training For those of us who took the Heartsaver CPR/AED training 2 years ago, the coverage expires February 1. The re-training classes are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, January 29 from 7:00-9:30pm or on Saturday, January 31 from 8:00-10:30am or 10:30-12:30pm. Each class will take place in the Den. The cost is $25 per person, and the maximum class size is 10. It would be nice to have a good cross section of individuals trained: ushers, ODB volunteers, youth sponsors, but anyone can benefit from undergoing this updated training. Please contact Jim White by Tuesday, January 27 if you wish to enroll in one of these 3 refresher classes.

This time we are going to try a different approach, based on the comments from last year. There will be sign up sheets in the church office, on the hall bulletin board, and in the Narthex. The sign up sheets will be divided into groups of opportunities, with spaces to sign up for each one you are interested in attending. If you would be willing to be a group leader, please put a star by your name. We would like to begin in February, so please sign up by January 28. Ritual of Friendship Are you one of those who are ignoring the Ritual of Friendship? Signing it is an effort to cross-communicate in a positive and effective manner. Anyone can add a note on the Ritual of Friendship asking for a call or assistance or update the church office with correct contact information. It allows us to welcome visitors, learn the new names, and contact them. Just think about how much better we can communicate by using the Ritual of Friendship and through wearing name tags! Community Outreach Collection for Denton Christian Preschool The Community Outreach Committee is collecting congregation donations for the Denton Christian Preschool, a community early childhood program for low-income three-and fouryear-olds. The school requests donations of the following: finger paints and easel-size finger paint paper, watercolors, large crayons, construction paper, lunch bags, paper plates, paper towels, toilet paper, liquid hand soap, children s toothpaste, AA and 9V batteries, and safety pins. Donations may be placed in the designated bins outside Fellowship Hall near the soda machines. This project will run until the end of February.
