St. Francis of Assisi Parish Teutopolis, Illinois page 2 A Deeper Sense of Love And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became dazzling white Mark 9:2-3 The disciples must have been stunned to see Jesus, their friend and everyday companion of many roads, suddenly transfigured before them. In our own faith, we have traveled many roads with Jesus, making our ordinary way with whatever sense we have of his company. And then there can come a sudden luminous moment, a dazzling epiphany that God s own self is really right here, right now, with us. It can come in a scene of breathtaking beauty, a miraculous escape or when something precious to us that has long been lost is found. In that radiant moment it is as if we can hear God s love spoken to us. We long to be able to keep that intense awareness, but we can t pitch a tent and stay there as Peter wanted to do. Ordinary life goes on. But it goes on with new light for our darkness, a deeper sense of the love that is with us on our way. Patricia Livingston Living Faith Baptisms. The mission is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of repentance, to seek God's favor, to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion. Since it began in 2004, at least 9,699 babies have been saved, 107 abortion workers have quit, and 59 abortion centers have been closed! Peaceful prayer at abortion clinics is the focus of the vigil. Official vigil sites are in Springfield and Champaign, but we can still offer fasting and prayer for intentions such as these: for an end to abortion for those considering abortion for conversion of those who work at Planned Parenthood and all abortion facilities for those grieving from an abortion experience for those prayer warriors outside Planned Parenthood and abortion clinics for staff and volunteers at the Family Life Center and other crisis pregnancy centers who minister to those in a crisis pregnancy Thanks to all who prayed in any way on our Eucharistic Day of Prayer this past Tuesday, and to all who pray at Planned Parenthood in Effingham on Tuesdays from noon to 4:00 PM. Holy Humor...Old country woman to bride: Housework s one thing there s no catching up with. You go to bed at night, everything s done. But while you re sleeping, sheets are wrinkling, dust is settling and stomachs are getting empty.
