Saint Peter s Rectory 111 Barilla Street Alamo Heights, San Antonio, Tex. Christmas 1937 Christmas Greetings St. Peter, Prince of Apostles Church Alamo Heights, San Antonio, Tex. **1937** Dear parishioner: Christ Incarnate is the gift of God to mankind. Light and peace and joy and hope dawned on the human race with His birth at Bethlehem. He stripped Himself of majesty, glory and the radiance of divine power so that we might approach Him without fear. He came as a tender helpless child so that our hearts might go out to Him in sympathy and that our love might envelop Him with its warmth. He asks for little even on Christmas Day a place in His own creation, a home in our souls and the love of our poor, fickle human hearts. Shall you close the door of you heart against Him as did the people of Bethlehem? Shall you deny Him the love which He created in the beginning and which he now wants as your return of gratitude? Union with Christ is the source of peace and happiness. Christmas joy and gladness for yourself and for the members of your family can be found only in the reception of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. May the joy which the Angels promised to men of good-will be yours! And may the blessed peace of Christ abide in your heart and in your home. Your Devoted Pastor, Father PETER M. BAQUE St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church was founded in 1923 by Father E. F. Park. In 1925, Father Park was succeeded by Father Peter M. Baque. Our church building was constructed under the direction of Father Baque and was dedicated on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1926. This Christmas message was sent by Father Baque to the St. Peter Parishioners in 1937. Father Baque was the pastor of our church until his death in 1938.
