Our first Carnival 2017 Meeting was last August; the advance work and planning came together last week, July 12 to 16. Thank you to all who worked this year s Carnival in front of or behind the scenes: parade marchers, those who bought/sold Raffle Tickets, ran booths, cooked and served food, dealt cards, did put-up and take-down work, and performed the hundred-andone things that made Carnival 2017 such a great success. As promised, we will move ahead on the projects Carnival 2017 will pay for: Magnetic computerized automatic locking/ unlocking devices for our church; sixty new Chromebooks for the use of all St Charles students PCRF and Day School; security cameras/monitors/recording devices for our parish property and buildings. So, what are the dates for Carnival 2018? Well, here they are: Wednesday to Sunday, July 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. Next Sunday, July 30, is a Fifth Sunday of the month. Our parish custom, for many years, has been to sponsor a second collection for the work of our St Vincent de Paul Society. Our SVdP, in your name, practices faithfully the corporal works of mercy: feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, and providing shelter for those with nowhere to go. Please help them in their work in next weekend s second collection.

Your input is crucial as we add the voices from the Diocese of Cleveland to those from around the world to help the Church gain a true understanding of the lives of young adults. This survey is for people of all ages. It is important, easy, and it won t take long. Your survey results will be in the conversation at the Synod in Rome. This is your opportunity to send your message to Pope Francis to help young adults enter into a more meaningful encounter with Jesus Christ throughout their lives.
