It has been my honor to serve as the Grand Knight for Blessing Council. Our next business meeting will be Monday, June 12, 2017, in the Saints John and Paul Parish Center. We will be electing the Officers for next year, I look forward to seeing you there. Once again Blessing Council s Annual Kandi Drive was a great a success, thanks to all the generous parishioners at Our Lady of Good Counsel, St. Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Czestochowa, and Saints John and Paul. I would like to thank Fr. Paul Grenon, Fr. Paul Lemoi and Fr. Jacek Ploch for allowing us to collect after the Masses. Also, I would like to thank this year s chairman, Brother Neil Fidler, and all the Brothers who helped at the KANDI Drive. All the money collected will go to charities that help individuals with intellectual disabilities. The Fundraiser Committee is planning the next two events for the Council. We will have a Steak Fry on July 29, and the Annual Family Picnic in August. There will be more information to follow for these events. If you know of any Catholic gentlemen who might like to join the Knights of Columbus, please invite them. New Brothers help us to grow as a council and to do our works of charity. The Church begins this month with great Feast: Pentecost, Holy Trinity and the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. All of these speak to us of the love of our God for his children. The outpouring of His and the Son's love through the gifts of Holy Spirit to guide us in our life's journey. And the Triune God who we call to mind each tine we make the sign of the cross. And the most precious gift of the Body and Blood of Christ poured out for us to nourish us on our journey of this life to the life eternal. June means the coming of summer but it does not mean that we forget God our the Church during this time, please continue to pray the Rosary daily and pray the prayer for vocations each day and attend Mass as often as possible. NEW DECEASED MEMBERS BOARD The new deceased members board has been completed and is currently on display in the front foyer of Saints John and Paul Parish. Special thanks go out to Brother David Tremblay who created the design and then the actual board from walnut wood in his home workshop. Brother David is a woodworker and specialized in this work. As you can see, he did a fantastic job. There are 126 deceased members currently on the board along with the names of Knights of Columbus founder, the Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, and our namesake, Monsignor Peter E. Blessing.
