Priory Railway Club The next meeting of the Priory Railway Club will be on Monday 20 th February at 7.30pm in room 3. All welcome. All are welcome to join us. Correction to Priory and Willington News There is an error in the Circuit Healing Services article in the new edition of PRAWN. It gives the correct date/time for the next Circuit Healing Service - Sunday 30th April at 6pm - but the incorrect venue. It should be Haynes Methodist Church, NOT Henlow Methodist Church. Baptisms The names of the two children who will be baptised during the 10.30 Methodist Worship service at Priory on Sunday 26th February are Zachary and Matilda Rocks. Their parents are Matthew Rocks and Ashleigh Philp. Safeguarding If you are one of the people who have been notified that you need a Safeguarding Refresher Course, the next training will be on Tuesday 21st February at 9.45am for 10.00am at Cardington Methodist Church. The first is on Worship and Unity the second on the role of Worship Music and Evangelism. Open to all involved in worship ministry and leadership or anyone aspiring to enter those fields! OPERATION ORPHAN We have now a large amount of knitted items to send so the box will be packed by 1st MARCH. So please finish off those items that have been started. We have received some lovely jumpers, hats etc. and colourful blankets. Thank you very much for all the contributions to this worthy cause. Proceeds for CHURCH FUNDS Lent course Priory will be sharing the Lent groups arranged by Goldington Churches Together, which will be following a course based on the film Chocolat. Sessions will be held at St Mary's at 2.30pm on Tuesdays (March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th and 4th April), and at Priory at 7.30pm on Wednesdays (March 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th and 5th April). It is very helpful to have a copy of the study guide in advance; these are available ( 6) from Sue in the church office.
IMPORTANT DATE FOR ALL CHURCH MEMBERS Priory Annual Church Meeting - Sunday 12th March 11.45 am - 1.30 pm This annual meeting of Priory members is responsible to appoint/reappoint church officers (Church Council Secretary, Treasurer, Pastoral Secretary, Goldington Churches Together, Senior Worship Steward, Junior Church, Safeguarding Officer, Property Committee, HR, Priory representatives to quarterly Circuit meetings, and Congregation Representatives to Priory Church Council). The meeting is open to all. Voting is restricted to Priory Church Members. Priory needs more people to volunteer for these roles and in particular as Congregation Representatives. If you are interested to volunteer please contact Andrew or any of the "photo-faces" on the leadership team board in the vestibule. You can also "sign up" at the meeting. For further information please contact Tony Johnson, Church Council Secretary. Holiday Activity Club PLT and others are planning a Holiday Activity Club in August. More people are needed to work with children, prepare craft, to provide music, drama, tech support and provide refreshments. We cannot proceed if we don't have enough people. If you are able to help, please use the sign up sheet in the welcome area or email carmen.rowe753@btinternet.com Soup Run Has anyone got ½ hour to spare on a Sunday evening once a month to help give out soup, hot drinks and sandwiches at the bottom of De Parys Avenue to those folk in our town who are hungry. If you would like to join us at the Soup run please contact Jenny Lloyd. Prayer Date for your diaries All are welcome - start at 11am on 25 th March. Flower Donors The flower donor board for 2017 is in the welcome area by the door. Please feel free to sign up for any Sunday and then give your donation in an envelope with your name on, to Sue Butler. Pastoral CD Copies of Church Services CD copies are available of various Priory Services and other functions by filling in the PINK slip called Request for Pastoral CD Copy. These slips can be found on the table at the front of the Church. CD copies are available FREE to Priory Church members. However a small donation would be gratefully accepted and should be put directly in the offertory plate. If more than one copy is required then see Steve Gordon directly. Unfortunately taped copies cannot be provided. Special functions like Weddings etc. can be catered for but will require timely notice and must be directed to the Minister. Pastoral Cards We have a very good selection of pastoral cards. These are kept in the Stewards Vestry. If you wish to send a card please help yourself. The cards cover many situations and have lovely prayers and scripture readings inside. Envelopes are provided. Please read and select the most appropriate. Pastoral secretary
"Send a Cow to Africa" "Send a Cow to Africa" is an organisation that provides direct, practical help to poor farmers and families in Africa - currently working in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Zambia and Lesotho. The aim is to help the people to help themselves. By providing cows and other live stock including fish, goats, bees, pigs and chickens, seeds and tools plus training in livestock rearing and organic farming to get families started and eventually self-sufficient. They also provide low cost veterinary advice and service. We can help by donating our used ink cartridges. You will find a box on the table in the vestibule under pigeon holes for people to place their used ink cartridges. For every ink cartridge I send back 2 will be donate to "Send a Cow" funds.
