Wonderful things are being planned and more information will follow in the coming weeks See Lent Groups for a bit of a preview). Stay Tuned!! WORLD LEPROSY SUNDAY January 28 th Please help people like Habsou aged 57 years, from Niger - she was diagnosed with leprosy as a young child. Since then her life has been one of shame and rejection by her parents and the uneducated community in which she lived. As a teenager she received treatment but by that time leprosy had savaged her body. She was forced to beg and marry a much older man who died whilst she was pregnant. Her daughter Mariama is considered dirty and tainted. " Can you believe this is a true story happening today? So much leprosy education is needed. Please pray for for the success of World Leprosy Day in order to help Habsou and other similar families. We will have an opportunity to give on Jan. 28 th. Envelopes will be available. Please be as generous as you can.
4 General Church Meeting 11th February after the service This is a reminder that the meeting is in three weeks. Could all the various groups send the office their reports by 4th February at the latest. If you would like a topic to be discussed, please send your request to the office by 2nd February so it can be put on the agenda which will be published on 4th February. There are many exciting things happening so it should be a good one! Remember to bring a packed lunch. The Chair will be Jenny Travis. Members are reminded of their obligation to attend the meetings or to send apologies to the office. Heaton Moor United Church is online! 5 Lent Study Groups Theme this year is Prayer Matters. You do not need to purchase a book. The first week is 18th February after the service. Those with a keen eye for detail will notice this is also the New Year Social! The other study groups will be on the following dates; 25th February 4th March Not being held on Mothering Sunday (11th March) 18th March 25th March The groups will be held after the 10:45 service and soup will be served. If you are able to make soup, please sign up for a date on the Notice board. Thank you!!

8 Morning Prayer in the Patio Room Every Sunday at am There will be a 15 minute period of prayer on Sunday Morning. We will pray for the person (s) leading worship and all others involved in the activities of the day. We will also remember those unable to be with us. This prayer time is in addition to the Thursday prayer meeting. -Anne Hunt Come and Join our monthly prayer group. They meet on the second Thursday of the month from 2pm to 3pm in the Patio Room. There has been an increasing number of brake ins all over Stockport. Please ensure the door is locked if you are the last one in the building. IF YOU HEAR THE FIRE ALARM Evacuate the building using your nearest exit and assemble on the lawn. Remain calm walk don t run DO NOT use the lift DO NOT stop to collect belongings DO NOT turn back or try to re-enter the building If you have difficulty using the stairs, stay where you are and assistance will be Provided.
