One of the key facets of a successful fundraiser is to bring in the crowds. That s where YOU can help. When you sell a raffle ticket, you spread the word. When you take a flyer and post it or hand it out to your family and friends, you spread the word. If you see a post on social media and share it, you really spread the word. Please be a part of the marketing effort for this year s Springfest. We need a big crowd to eat, play games, visit our vendors, buy raffle tickets and bid on our incredible auction. It s a great day for family fun so SPREAD THE WORD! CALENDAR SPONSORSHIP: It is actully time to order our 2019 Church Calendar. In the past several years we have been able to provide these beautiful calendars through the generosity of Parish Members who have sponsored them. The sponsorship cost for the 2019 Calendars is $390.00 and is due before July 1, 2018. The sponsorship gives you the added privilage of designing the information to go on the sponsor portion of the Calendar tab. If you are interested in sponsoring the calendars this year please contact the office as soon as possible. SERVICE DRIVE: The SPIRIT Service Drive, is an opportunity that gives SPIRIT Youth the chance to help parishioners and other friends of SPIRIT with yard work, odd jobs, or other assistance in exchange for a donation to help offset SPIRIT functions. No work too big and no donation too small. If you have basic odd jobs you d like help with, please contact Dale Blanchard to request help. Donations are requested at the end of the job. SPIRIT RETREAT Our annual retreat is fast approaching. If you have not turned in your forms, they need to be turned in by May 13 th. YOU ARE INVITED! THREE HOTS AND A COT Knights of Columbus Council 10567 has selected Three Hots and a Cot as the spotlight charity for this year s Dinner Dance, to be held on Saturday, August 25 at the Bessemer Civic Center. Three Hots and a Cot was formed by veterans to help veterans. The primary mission is to assist homeless military veterans transition from life on the streets into a self-sustained lifestyle. Their success rate is 85% but we can never give up on the 15% that didn't make it and, unfortunately, the countless more that will walk through their doors. Homeless and Veterans are two words that should never be used in the same sentence. For more information on Three Hots and a Cot, go to http://cotsforvets.org. Tickets to this year's Dinner Dance will be on sale soon. NOTE MEETING CHANGE The May meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary will be this Thursday, May 10 th. Drawing will be held at the conclusion of our live auction on Springfest Sunday. NEW THIS YEAR- Mystery Boxes. What's that? Come visit the auction in St. Joseph Hall and we can explain. Auction opens after Mass, Saturday, May 5. COME BID OR COME BUY!!!!! SPRINGFEST TICKETS 2018: We are low on the return of tickets and money for Springfest. You can see me after Mass on Saturday and Sunday to turn in your stubs and money or to get additional tickets to sell. Springfest is fast approaching. Feel free to turn in as you sell because I keep a running total of money received. Also, make sure your name is on all tickets so the money is credited to you. DAILY MASS MINISTRY: Volunteers are needed to be Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers during Daily Mass. If you would like to serve please check in at the office 15 minutes before Mass begins. LOST AND FOUND: There are several articles in lost and found. Please call the Church Office for assistance. NEW CENSUS CARD PLEASE: If any of your information has changed, please take the time to fill out a new census card completely. Not sure? Fill one out anyway and don t forget to mark your choices on the privacy line. That is, let us know if we may share your address and phone information with your fellow parishioners. This line is located under the Home phone/(s) email/wife s Maiden Name line. THE IMPORTANCE OF CANS! Thank you for your contribution of aluminum cans to benefit our youth programs at the church. Please remember to rinse your cans after use and do not crush them in any way so that they will fit into our can crusher properly. Finally, please deposit cans in the receptacle in the corner of the upper parking lot ensuring that they are placed in bags that are tied so that the cans do not fall out when retrieved by our volunteers. We appreciate everyone s cooperation and continue to SAVE THOSE CANS!
