To all my sons and daughters in Christ, It s Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) Pledge Weekend throughout the Diocese. Through ACA pledges, we make concrete our resolution to Serve the Lord throughout the Diocese of Madison. The gifts we make will strengthen the Church s mission in Catholic Education, ministry to families, assistance for Camp Gray, funding the good work of Catholic Charities and much more. Let s all make a sound plan and a firm resolution to pledge a generous gift to Serve the Lord in the ACA. You can make a pledge over a period of five months. I have pledged $500.00 to the ACA, which equals $100.00 per month over five months. I ask anyone who can do so to join me in this pledge. If every member of our parish pledges $200.00 to the ACA, which equals $40.00 per month over five months, we will meet our goal. Some can give more, others not as much. I ask you to be: 1) generous, 2) thoughtful and 3) positive. Our parish has done great work for the ACA in the past and I am confident we can do so again. Love you all like Jesus! Fr. Eric PILGRIMAGE to ROME and BEYOND From October 9 to 18, join Fr. Eric, a true Roman veteran, on an awesome pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi and Siena in Italy! A top-notch visit of Rome s treasures awaits you, along with a most memorable visit to Vatican City, including a General Audience with Pope Francis (pending on the Holy Father's schedule) and Holy Masses celebrated at spectacular locations! While in Rome, pilgrims from St. Cecilia will be able to pray before their Patron Saint s incorrupt remains! There is much more to this pilgrimage, but it is easier to read the brochure! Please pick up a brochure at the Parish Office or visit the website dellscatholic.com DO YOU WANT TO FAST THIS LENT? In the words of Pope Francis Fast from hurting words and say kind words. Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude. Fast from anger and be filled with patience. Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope. Fast from worries and have trust in God. Fast from complaints and contemplate simplicity. Fast from pressures and be prayerful. Fast from bitterness and fill your hearts with joy. Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others. Fast from grudges and be reconciled. Fast from words and be silent so you can listen.

Thanks to Anna Jagielo, Iwona Pakos and Mary Maniak (pictured at right) for giving of their time and talent. Also, a thank you to our greeter, Nelly Platt. RITE OF ELECTION OF CATECHUMENS The Rite of Election of Catechumens and Call to Continuing Conversion for Candidates for Full Communion in the Catholic Church was celebrated by the parishes of the Diocese of Madison on Sunday, March 5, at St. John the Baptist Church in Waunakee. The celebration comes from an ancient Christian practice of asking those who were to celebrate the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) to come forward at the beginning of Lent to show their intent. Lent marks the beginning of a final period of prayer and preparation. Pictured on the right is Christy Tamminen and her sponsor, Gail Jermier, being welcomed by Msgr. James Bartylla.
