You might be asking, Why should our parish support the Sister Water Project? The Dubuque Franciscan Sisters too wondered how they could make a difference in the global water crisis. After years of studying, they discovered that 1 in 20 people in the world do not have access to clean water. Motivated by this need, they founded the Sister Water Project in 2004 to bring potable water to the people of Honduras and Tanzania. Through collaboration with villagers in both countries, and with the support of their donors, the Sister Water Project has completed/restored 200 water projects. They are committed to protecting the precious resource of water, to advocate for everyone s right to clean water, and to do their part to make it accessible to the most vulnerable. Together they are God s hands and feet working to provide the basic necessity of water while improving the quality of life where water was once scarce. Let US join them! I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink. (Matthew 25:35). Please attend one of three presentations, 1pm, 4:30pm and 7:15pm, on January 30 at the Parish Education Center.
