We are looking ahead to big Holiday in our church. A big Holiday at our homes. Maybe even a big Holiday at our work. We are looking ahead to happy times. A time when many people dread. This month has one of the highest rates of suicide. The stress the world has put on parents and caregivers can be huge. It is a time when we, being so blessed, can give back to some of those that are hurting. Do our little bit to make someone else's life a little better. To help them know that God s plan calls for all to be happy at this time. This is a time when we can show what we mean. The thing that gives us the pride to where that K of C Badge. To let others know how we can help and do help to make things better for other people. This month we have a lot of things going on. We have tried to make it all about families. December Newsletter Page 2 We have 2 Casino Nights in Dec to get us ready for Janruary and beyond! Deputy Grand Knight Report I hope all of you had a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. This past month was a slow month for the Knights although there were things to do like sale the One Nation under God and Keep CHRIST in Christmas magnets. The yard signs are all made and most have been distributed. We made some 65 signs and along with the magnets made some funds for the Coats for Kids project. This too has been an undertaking in itself. We will be taking pictures with the coats and as many Knights as possible at the next business meeting. A huge Thank you to Tom Kupper, Tim Jasper, Jim Schranz, Louis Hernandez, Wayne Lamothe and Dan Jacobs (add other names I missed) for the many hours they have put into the yard sign project. Let me not forget Paul Kelleher for heading the magnet sales, Thank you Paul. We are now in December and it is one of our busiest months of the year. We have Casinos to deal at, cheerfest at UNT coliseum, CCA gift pickup and parties, it seems like the calendar is full. Please review the calendar on our Knights of Columbus website. https:// kofcknights.org/councilsite/?cno=9884 We need as many Knights to help in these events as some are on the same day or run concurrent Friday thru Sunday. All of these Knight s events and we still have family to spend time with so please help out where ever you can and as often as you can. Our Knights of Columbus website, have you seen it lately? If you look on the right side there in black is our Amazon icon. Click on it and it takes you to the Amazon fundraising link. Click where it says Amazon link again and bam you re at the Amazon site where you can login as normal, but, our council will earn a percentage of your purchase. This only works if you use the Knights link every time you go to the Amazon website. If you save something in your cart and come back later but don t come back in through the knight s link then we KoC will not earn anything from your purchase. December 5 is the Knights of Columbus Christmas party. I hope to see many of you there, as a reminder if you are bringing a child that will see Santa, please bring a gift for that child so that Santa can present it to them. This has worked out very well in the past and the kids have a great time with Santa taking pictures while sitting on his lap. Food, the Knights will provide the food we just need you to bring the side salads and dessert. I believe last names starting with A-N bring a salad and O-Z bring a dessert. There will be a white elephant so if you would like to get a gift you must bring a gift. Please if you can print the Calendar and help out in the many events that are happening this month, we need all of the Knight s help if we are to successfully complete each of these events. Thank you and may the spirit of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity be reflected in everything we do. to all of you and a Happy New Year. Peace be with you and your family. DGK Louis Hernandez
