Annual Catholic Appeal Your contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal allows our diocese to continue to serve as a resource to the parishes and other organizations in their efforts to provide service, evangelization and outreach to others. Go online to: www.dioceseoftrenton.org/catholicappeal to make a pledge, payment or outright gift. Holy Cross Men s Group Survey Most of us communicate freely on the many subjects that are important to us. Yet, issues like religion, politics, family, perceptions of faith in our lives and some others are off limits, despite their importance. We are not comfortable discussing these topics with just anybody. Nevertheless, we need to express and share our thoughts and concerns on such important stuff. It s healthy and rewarding, and creates a healthy fellowship with other men from the Parish. It s been proven, a real fellowship based in faith can provide an ideal forum without fear of judgement or repercussion. If you could identify a safe, collegial way to open and sustain/facilitate an exchange of your views and concerns that helped you move the ball of understanding your faith and its history, what would it look like? Please take part in our survey, click the following link: https://s.surveyplanet.com/vlio-xmto. The Holy Cross Men's Group meets on Thursday evenings, in the St. Joseph Meeting Room. New Members are welcome! Join us on Thursday, April 11th, at 7:30 PM. Thank You From Project Paul Project Paul has been providing food, clothing and homelessness prevention services to the needy in the Bayshore area of Monmouth County for 30 years. The number of qualified, needy people seeking our services has increased. Your generous donation of $561 from your food drive in February, will help people throughout the Bayshore area. We thank you on behalf of the many people that will be helped with this contribution. Sincerely, Sal Cortale, Executive Director
April 7, 2019 Page 3 #623 Consider Becoming An Annulment Advocate Classes will begin for the 2019 Annulment Advocate Course in September, but it s not too soon to consider application for enrollment. Annulment Advocates are trained and deputed by the Diocese of Trenton to help those who wish to obtain a church annulment to file their petition with the Diocesan Tribunal. After recommendation by Fr. Manning and acceptance by the Diocese, candidates will attend classes to understand the grounds for annulling a marriage and the rights and duties of annulment advocates. Advocates generally assist our own parishioners or those from nearby parishes and meet in Holy Cross Parish Center. The classes will be held beginning in September on Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Pastoral Center in Lawrenceville. The formation course is 16 weeks long. Easter Flower Donations Remember your loved ones and give thanks for blessings through Easter flower donations. We beautifully enhance our worship by adorning our church with glorious flowers that announce Christ is risen! The Easter flower envelope was included in your envelope packet. If you misplaced your envelope, be sure to write the names of your family and friends you wish to remember, on a plain envelope and mark it, Easter Flower Donation. Over the years, several annulment advocates have been commissioned for Holy Cross. If you are interested in performing this valuable service of mercy and justice for those seeking annulments and permission to remarry in the Catholic Church, please call Fr. Manning or Lori LaPlante in the Parish Office.
