Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, I have sinned, and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak, and blameless when you judge. Offertory With Those Hands Liberty Choir Ruth E Schram Sermon Scripture John 21:15-19 Sermon The RE-CLAIMER in CHIEF Rev. Ebenezer Afful *Closing Hymn I am Thine, O Lord #713 *Benediction Postlude We welcome once again to our pulpit, Rev. Ebenezer Afful who has been a wonderful blessing to us! Ebenezer is currently teaching as a Professor of Religion at Stevenson University, MD and pastoring Berean Reformed Fellowship in Glen Burnie, MD. He says this by way of introduction: The only thing worthy of mention is the grace of the certain knowledge of Jesus and the extraordinary privilege to be an extension of His ministry, in spite of my unworthiness - as well as a deep interest in the communication of the Gospel of our Lord to a decaying world Sermon Audio: If you would like to re-listen to this week s sermon or any of Liberty s previous sermons you can find them online at sermonaudio.com. teaches on such areas as God s character, the nature of humanity and our eternal destiny, what is the church and a right society. We are currently about half way through and already we ve seen how our Confession applies to our salvation and personal heart issues, current trends in worship, witnessing, human sexuality, and creationism - just to name a few applications. Who says studying doctrine is boring, dry or irrelevant? Come find out what all the excitement is about! Even though this class is required for new leaders, anyone is welcome! We especially want to encourage everyone who teaches a class or leads a small group or study to attend - men and women - so that you are well versed in the great doctrines of our faith! This interactive class utilizes Williamson s Study Guide for the Westminster Confession of Faith. Study questions are provided in advance to aid us in our discussion of understanding of the WCF chapters. If you want more information or want to order a study guide, please contact Pastor Barry. Woman s Class on Prayers of the Bible Led by Joyce Klein, Meets in the Fellowship Hall Prayer is our direct means of communication with God. Susan Hunt, in her book, Prayers of the Bible, Equipping Women to Call on God in Truth, takes us directly to God s Holy Word to explore prayers and see how they highlight the story of redemption. These biblical prayers equip us to know God s nearness and to call on Him in truth. This book gives practical application to the Redeemed Woman who desires to bow lower and draw nearer to God in prayer. FOCUS ON MISSIONS Pray for Ben Weinreich as he serves on a short-term mission construction project with Serge Ministry. Pray for the health and safety for the teams and for Ben as he manages construction teams.

As with all promotions, my family members are excluded. Prize to be determined based on what Pastor B might find during Spring cleaning. Winner to be announced once we have one. Jesse Harlan was the winner of our last challenge! (The guys are catching up!) Have fun figuring it out! NEW! A TEEN CHALLENGE What was Paul praying to happe Paul s joy in the Ephesian believers is all throughout his greeting. Paul congratulates their faith in Christ Jesus and their love for each other. Paul also makes a profound prayer on the behalf of the Ephesian believers. What was one thing Paul prayed for concerning the Ephesian Christians in Chpt 1:15-23? The first person to email Phill or Kelly before next Friday the 23rd with the correct answer will receive a prize. You can email us at pinemphl275@aol.com or river_otter11@msn.com. ADULT SUNDAY CLASSES: LEARN, GROW AND BE EQUIPPED! Psalm Study Charlie Cate and Steve Madden, teachers, Meets in Fellowship Hall We are beginning the study of Psalms by looking at selected Psalms from the 1st book of Psalms (1-41) to glean from them their importance in the Canon of Scripture and learn how the different genre of Psalms can inform our devotion and prayers. This will be just the beginning of what we hope to be a many year intermittent study of all of the Psalms! The Westminster Confession of Faith Study Led by Pastor Barry, Meets in the Parlor Although written nearly 500 years ago, the Westminster Confession of Faith is just as timely today as when it was first written, since it crystallizes the timeless truths of Scripture. Divided into 32 chapters the Confession is a foundational document of our Reformed Faith and ANNOUNCEMENTS PART-TIME JOB OPENING GAL OR GUY FRIDAY The church office is looking for additional help on an as need basis (usually Thursdays and/or Fridays) for someone experienced in performing secretarial duties answering phones, typing, filing. Knowledge of Microsoft Office necessary and Excel is a plus! If you have flexibility in your schedule we encourage you to apply. If interested, please contact Pastor Barry or Lisa Maddox to apply. Job is paid hourly. OPEN HEARTS MINISTRY UPDATES: Our regular ministry meetings will be on the 2nd Sunday of the month, at 6pm in the fellowship hall. Thank you to all who assisted with cleaning out the area for the new Blessings Closet during the church work day. Now we hope to fill it! Donations needed: Gently used children s clothing (Newborn to Youth Large), children s shoes, and blankets. Feel free to put donations in a box next to the Mercy Needs donations boxes. MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR TWO SPECIAL HOLY WEEK EVENTS Maundy Thursday Service, March 29 7:00 PM Christ in the Passover and Celebration of the Lord s Supper Chaim Ministries will be presenting the meaning of the Passover and how it is fulfilled in Jesus, our Messiah. This special presentation will be followed by the celebration of the Lord s Supper. A love offering will be taken during the presentation to support the ministry of Chaim which is a PCA endorsed ministry to the Jewish community. If you wish to contribute to the offering, please make your check out to Rev. Rick Anderson

Sunday, April 1 Easter Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt 9:00 AM We want to encourage our young families and also reach out to the community so as part of our annual Easter Breakfast we will be having a special Easter Egg Hunt for children pre-school through elementary school which our youth ministry will be helping with as a service project. The Easter Egg Hunt will be starting around 9:30 AM and will be held, weather permitting, around the school yard. Our youth will be setting up the area and hiding the eggs and escorting the children as they go on the hunt. There may even be some special eggs hidden that will be a surprise! If the weather is not conducive for an outdoor hunt we will have it in part of the gym. Details are still in the works but here is what you need to know for now: Plan on coming and inviting family and friends to the breakfast and the service afterwards. Our Easter service will be at the same time, 10:45 am and will be an excellent opportunity for your unchurched family and friends to hear the Gospel. Next week, we will have invitations available for you to use to invite others. Just let us know how many to expect when you sign up for the Breakfast in the coming weeks. You will need to include the number of children expected as well. Donate candy to stuff the plastic eggs. Baskets will be available at each of the church exits to drop off candy please, no candy containing nuts or peanuts. The donated candy should be able to fit in a plastic Easter egg (which the Pioneer Girls will be filling as one of their projects). Also note: Pastor Barry prefers dark chocolate over milk chocolate just sayin. Sign up to bring a baked good or egg casserole or orange or apple juice and condiments (jelly, cream cheese, etc). The church will provide paper goods. Helpers would also be much needed to help set up and decorate tables, and clean up. Contact Pastor Barry or Margaret if you would like to help. Depending on the number who sign up, the breakfast will be either in Fellowship Hall or in the School Family Center aka the gym. Most importantly pray that the Lord will bless us with good weather, excellent attendance and an effective outreach! Also note: As the first Sunday of the month is Easter Sunday, we will not be celebrating the Lord s Supper on April 1st, but instead, you will be able to have communion at the Maundy Thursday service so please plan to come and celebrate the Lord s Supper with us as a conclusion to a moving and meaningful Seder presentation by Chaim ministries. NEW CHALLENGE So rich a passage, so little time! Pastor Barry couldn t get to all of his points in his last sermon Knowing the King based on Ephesians 1:15-23. As a follow-up he would like to offer a new contest to see who can be the first to answer this somewhat challenging question. Here it is: We mentioned last week that Paul prays that the Ephesians would comprehend in a deeper way the hope of their calling (verse 18). Given the context of the chapter 1, we stressed one aspect of our calling - our election from eternity past (verses 4-5); however, that is just one aspect of our calling. What other ways are we called that you can find in the New Testament? The first person to email Pastor Barry after Sunday s service with the correct answer will receive a prize. You can email him at barry_cureton@libertychurchpca.org. Contest Rules: No age limit but if you are two years old and get the answer, Pastor B will be highly skeptical that you didn t have some help. However, you can make it a family project.
