The Knight Informer Waconia Knights of Columbus Council # 2506 Website: www.waconiaknightsofcolumbus.weebly.com Volume No. 18 Issue 5 Grand Knights Message Brother Knights and Family, I thought that this, possibly my last note to you, should be something special, so I've chosen to give you what I personally think the council needs going forward. So: 1. The council needs more younger men to become involved with the council fundraising events. This is especially true of the fish frys and breakfasts. This means finding what task you'd like to do best, find the brother who does that task today and get him to show you how to do it, so one day you can do the same for the next brother. 2. The council needs to come up with ideas to utilize the Park more often, such as mobilizing a softball or volley ball group once the Upcoming Calendar Dates! Tues. May 1 Business meeting St Paul room St. Joe's church basement. Sat. May, 5. 9:00 AM, Clean and open Klein Drive Park need help. 4th Degree Picnic at Klein Park,Sunday May 6, Time 12:00 Tues May 15 Regular meeting St Joe's church basement. improvements are made to these fields and the parking lot. This would be a great way to bring more parishioners together, men and women for that matter. Could a brother volunteer to be a Program Director for these? Workers & Spouses.) Summer Social, Fri. June 22, 7:00 pm at Klein Park 3. There are some officers who perform many tasks above and beyond what they are required to do, such as folding and mailing out this newsletter, mowing and trimming the lawn at the park, and storing council assets in their own storage units. Should you not ask our officers if you can take over some tasks? Finally let me say thank you for welcoming me into the council (Gene Miller), and for these months to serve you. I look forward to another year of working with you to do God's work Vivat Jesus, Patrick Witherow Did you know you can buy life insurance for your children and grandchildren?* Knights of Columbus Insurance New Field Agent: James Cross from Glencoe Cell Phone. 1-507-430-8284 or Email james.cross@kofc.org BOARD MEMBERS Grand Knight Patrick Witherow Deputy Grand Knight- Chancellor Ken Gerding Recording Secretary Joe Eiden Financial Secretary Ted Schugg Treasurer Jim Ebert Lecturer Dan Niesen Advocate Tom Johnston Warden Larry Revering Inside Guard Berne Rauen Outside Guard Roger Leuthner 3 Year Trustee Austin Hagen 2 Year Trustee- Eugene Miller 1 Year Trustee Daniel Steinhagen KC Clothing For Sale! Regular Meetings 3 rd Tuesday of every month in Parish Center except for summer months (June through Sept) held at Klein Drive Park. Articles-Picture-Stories "Dear children, all that my Son, who is the light of love, has done and does, He has done out of love. Also you, my children, when you live in love and love your neighbors, you are doing the will of my Son. Apostles of my love, make yourselves little; open your pure hearts to my Son so that He can work through you. With the help of faith, be filled with love. But, my children, do not forget that the Eucharist is the heart of faith. This is my Son who feeds you with His Body and strengthens you with His Blood. This is a miracle of love: my Son who always comes anew, alive, to bring life back to souls. My children, by living in love you are doing the will of my Son and He lives in you. My children, my motherly desire is for you to always love Him more, because He is calling you with His love. He is giving you love so that you may spread it to all those around you. As a mother, through His love, I am with you to speak the words of love and hope to you - to speak to you the eternal words that are victorious over time and death - so as to call you to be my apostles of love. Thank you."
