South Asia Partnership Prayer and Newsletter November 3rd, 2017 NEWS: PRAISE & PRAYER INFORMATION FROM SOUTH ASIA Recently the South Asia Field Strategy Coordinator; Rev. Trino Jara and his wife Anna together with the field strategy assistants Rev. Bill and Theresa Grigory; Rev. Amitava and Rosemary Chatterjee as well as our field financial coordinator; Mr. Ramesh Pattara spent time visiting 5 Districts in South Asia. During the visit we spent time with each District Superintendent as well as District Advisory Boards and Ministry Coordinators. Among the themes for discussion we addressed; Focus on Nazarene Compassionate Ministries ( NCM ) Review with the district teams important district issues like stewardship, annual pastor reports and the relation between local and global church Dedicate time to discuss the importance of the district offices to disseminate the information that we send periodically among the local churches, and our focused attention regarding the importance of district Gatekeepers to open the doors for better communication. Work in strategic planning with District Advisory Boards (DAB) and Ministry Coordinator Spend time with NCM Lanka, Bangladesh Nazarene Ministry and NCM Nepal to discuss the actual situation of the organizations, their importance for the districts as well as for their relation with the church of the Nazarene and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries International. Vision 20/20 and its advance. Praises: The trip was very productive and in each district we could see the Hand of our Almighty God working. From this visit there are several reasons to praise God; The maturity and commitment of the church to follow Jesus and preach and live out holiness. For their willingness to prepare, equip and send young people to start the church in new areas. We are praying and planning to start our mission journey to new Countries in South Asia. Districts are working hard to become sustainable and advance in their quest to become phase III districts. We praise God because next year one district (Bangladesh North) is breaking and becoming three districts. The South Asia field will have 8 districts in 2018! Finances in the districts, especially Bangladesh have been reviewed and radical changes have been done thanks to the hard work of Brother Ramesh Pattara who is our field Finance Coordinator. Today we can give thanks to our God because we see resources He is providing through the sacrificial giving from committed Nazarenes around the world that believe in our ministry of preaching the Gospel in South Asia properly managed with established financial controls and procedures. Together with Rev. Grigory and Rev. Amitava we are working on a plan to develop a more effective strategy to educate pastors and church leaders able to lead the church and to fulfill the need for pastors in each district. For the impact and importance of ministries like NYI, NCM, NMI and SDMI in the life of

each district. God is moving his church to new levels and that is only happening because of these effective ministries. While in Bangladesh we had the opportunity to attend a youth conference organized by the South District with more than 300 young people gathered from across Bangladesh for a mega youth conference. Praise that 16 accepted Jesus Christ as their savior and were baptized on Sunday morning. Another 14 accepted Christ that evening and will be baptized soon. Together with the field team including District Superintendents, ministry coordinators, as well as our registered non-profit ministries, we are setting the vision to go beyond 2020 to 2023 and reach more than one million people in our field. In South Asia we are more than 130,000 Nazarenes. What could happen if only half of the Nazarenes in South Asia would commit to impact the life of at least one other person and him/her to Jesus every year for the next five years? We would be more almost 2,000,000 Nazarenes in South Asia! We are launching an intentional evangelistic movement called; Love, Care and Serve aimed to engage our Nazarene family to reach their friends and neighbors with the love and compassion of our Lord Jesus. We have already designed small commitment cards the size of a credit card to give to all committed Nazarenes in this evangelistic campaign. Of course we will continue planting churches through ministries like Jesus Film and others. Recent news from our Pakistan District Superintendent is that God is moving in Pakistan like they have not seen before. He reports that doors are opening faster than they can respond. Just this year they have built 30 church buildings and worship halls. Areas previously closed to us are now open for the Good News of the Gospel. God is especially moving in an area that has a million Hindus and there is a great turning to Christ. Prayer Requests: Needs: For our pastors and leaders to keep Jesus as the center of their message; keep preaching the message of holiness; continue advancing the Kingdom and His church to the end of the world. For each district in South Asia and their District Superintendent and the District Advisory Boards. Pray for ministry coordinators and other important leaders in the district to be fruitful stewards and gatekeepers to help the church utilize resources and information provided from the Lord through the global church. Pray for continued improvement in our financial management systems and procedures so we can be good stewards of the resources God provides through His loving people. Please pray for the South Asia field education project. We need urgently to set proper ministerial education program aimed to be more effective in preparing pastors and leaders to take over hundreds of churches we have without pastors. In some of our districts; pastors are pastoring up to five churches every week. In some others not only the pastor is involved in pastoring multiple churches but their lay people. We need to train pastors so the quality of ministry in the church will increase. Pray for ministries like NYI, NMI, NCM and SDMI in district and local levels. Please pray for the Lord of the Harvest to move our young people to answer the call to serve in those different ministries. Also to allow these ministries to be catalyzers for discipleship and mentorship of new believers. Please pray for the Movement; Love, Care and Serve. We firmly believe that mobilizing Nazarenes in South Asia to share the Gospel of Jesus through loving, caring and serving their neighbors is our collective responsibility as missional disciples of Jesus. We see young people as well as children and adults reaching to their friends and neighbors with a simple living message that will speak more than words. Pray for the Lord of the Harvest to give the divine appointment to all our committed Nazarenes in South Asia so they can share their lives with them. Pray for Heidi Bowes and the training she is coming to give to our District Secretaries and NMI presidents in Nepal and Bangladesh with people form all the 5 districts. Please pray for safe trips and good learning time. Please pray for the 2018 District Assemblies starting in January in Pakistan. This year is special because there is ordination service in our Pakistan district as well as the division of the Bangladesh North District in three.

We need volunteer teachers willing to come and teach our pastors and leaders. If you are a teacher and would like to come and spend time teaching our pastors and leaders; please contact us. We need a field W&W coordinator in USA willing to help us to promote W&W projects among the churches. If interested, please contact us.
