NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER MAY 4 Prayer Matters! Prayer reflects our relationship with God and we pray because we love Jesus. It is a privilege to be able to come before the Throne of Grace, as 1 Timothy 2:1 2 (KJV, Nelson Study Bible) states "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." This reminds us that God is the ultimate Sovereign. He is in control, and our prayers affect decisions at the highest level. As believers, we do know from our own experiences that prayer does make a difference. Each year the National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the United States Congress, when people are asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation." Since its inception, the president has signed a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. Prior to the National Day of Prayer on May 4, 2017, we urge you to make April a month of preparation and join the Prayer Ministry in praying and interceding for everyone. Prayer Ministry Team 10
