An unexpected bill. An upcoming doctor s appointment. A tense family visit. The list could go on. Every day struggles of all shapes and sizes creep into our lives, stealing our joy, leaving us stressed. Frustrated. Concerned. Upset. Anxious. The believers in Philippi were struggling. They were trying to live for Christ and grow in their faith and reach others for the Lord. Trying to deal with some issues within their own walls and the threats of persecution from without. As the Apostle Paul writes from a prison cell, he could have focused on his own troubles. Instead he wrote about choosing joy in the midst of discouragement and how to live a life full of peace and contentment. Paul s letter inspires us with biblical truth and the ultimate example of Jesus Christ. Pastor Rob begins this new series Choose Joy next Sunday. Invite a friend, plan to be in church each week for this guide to joy called Philippians. You will be encouraged and reminded of God s wisdom and control in the difficult moments of life and challenged to choose joy by allowing Jesus Christ to be your life. A Study of Philippians
