Copyright 2017 Board of Trustees of the Scottish Rite Bodies of the Valley of Detroit Josh joins our staff as a Membership Specialist. His primary duties will include calling our Brothers on the Brother to Brother program. Sometime during the year, you will receive a phone call from Brother Josh to just say Hello, how are you?. This is part of the program developed by our Sovereign Grand Commander to remind us that as Master Masons, we took an obligation to care for our Members. It is time for us to catch up with some of our Members who we have not heard from for a while. As some are no longer able to attend our Valley events, we can bring some Scottish Rite into their lives for a few moments over the phone. Maybe we can arrange a visitation to our shut in Brothers we are unaware of. Josh is a member of Dearborn Lodge No. 172. He joined Scottish Rite the following Reunion after he became a Master Mason. He holds a degree in business and was recently part owner of a non-emergency medical transportation company. Having recently married, Josh and Cassie reside in Flat Rock. Please take a moment when he calls to share why we all belong to this great organization!

The Medal of Honor was received by Mrs. Pauline Bedwell and Brother David R. Bedwell Jr., 32. Presenting the honor was Ill. John William McNaughton, 33, Sovereign Grand Commander, Ill. David A. Glattly, 33, and Ill. Walter F. Wheeler, 33, Deputy for Michigan at the Council of Deliberation Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids. The Supreme Council Medal of Honor may be conferred by the Supreme Council or by the Sovereign Grand Commander upon any person, whether or not a member of our jurisdiction or a member of any Body of the Rite, in recognition of distinguished service to Freemasonry, country, or humanity. SGC McNaughton stated, Today, we assemble to honor the memory of an outstanding Freemason. David devoted much of his adult life to the Fraternity and those of us who knew him, greatly appreciated his dedication to the Craft. He served his Grand Lodge as Grand Master, and the Supreme Council as an Active Member of the Supreme Council and then Deputy for Michigan in 2009. I got to know David personally over those years as we worked together on a number of important committees and assignments. He inspired all of us by his words and deeds. It has been my honor to serve with him, and today it is my privilege to posthumously present his family with the Supreme Council s Medal of Honor in token of our sincere appreciation of his devotion to Freemasonry and the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. This is only the 2nd time this honor has been present to a Brother in Michigan; the other is COD - Ill. Robert N. Osborne, 33, MSA, also from the Valley of Detroit. Ill.
