Grand Knight Report Dear Brother Knights, Families, and Friends, Our Council is getting older and older. I don t see much hope for younger members who would take over. Please keep looking. If there is any hope for our Council it has to be in with younger members. As it is right now, we have only about 15 members who have paid their 2018 Knights of Columbus dues. The participation in our council is getting less and less. Church Please keep in mind that we really do not know what will happen in the future. What is below is only if there are no changes. We will try to keep you informed. Village Chapel has a Communal Sacrament of the Sick during the 9:00 AM Mass on the first Thursday of each month. The next Mass will be on October 4th. Knights of Columbus Parish Masses are on the fourth Sunday of the month and the Saturday Vigil Mass. In September, that would be October 27th and 28th. We ask all Knights to sit with their families for the Mass. Wear your KC badge if you have one. Our October Pro-Life Mass will be on the fourth Monday, October 22nd, at Village Chapel. The Rosary will begin at 7:05 PM followed with the Mass at 7:30 PM. Refreshments will follow in the exercise room. Please come join us in praying for Pro-Life. Pro-Life We hear that our next Supreme Court Justice, Justice Brett Kavanaugh s accuser has some problems. First of all, her party has known about this person accusations since early this year. Senator Feinstein (D-CA) had been holding it up and waiting until the confirmation could be help up by it before letting the information out, second, a person close to the situation has come forward to say it did not happen, third, it seems the accuser has a beef with Kavanaugh. The accuser s mother s home was foreclosed on several years ago by Justice Kavanaugh s mother. What a way to get back at her! Independent journalist, Mike Cernovich says Christine Blasey is a far-left activist who spent all weekend deleting her social media accounts. Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee are working overtime to delay Brett Kavanaugh s confirmation to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has been wrong for many years now. It is time to make it right. Sunshine Many of our Brothers and family members are in need of our daily prayers. Please let me know if you have or know someone who should be on it. We will keep them on the list for two months, after that we will take them off unless you have said to keep them on the list. Also, notify me if you want me to send a Get Well or Sympathy Card to someone. Also, for our Brother Knights, their wives or their family members that

have passed away, please notify me so a Gate Fold of Spiritual Union of Perpetual Adoration can be given to surviving family members. Individuals on our current prayer are: PGK Vic Fedor and his wife Audrey Liz Freeman (Wife of Deceased PGK John Freeman) Genie Kearney (Wife of GK ) Shirley Maher (wife of PGK Paul Maher) PGK Bill Miller Brother Frank Novacek and his wife (Cecilia) (Frank was a past member of our Council and had a heart attack and is now in Hospice) Mary Stallings (Wife of PGK Morris Stallings) Melinda (Daughter of PGK Charlie Valdez) Pray for the repose of the soul of Bernie O Neil (Former resident at Village), may his soul rest in peace Pray for our country and its leaders, especially our President and all our military and their families. The power of prayer is strong indeed and we should wield that power often. Community Brad Pierce The Presbyterian Night Shelter (PNS) Sandwich Making Night is still on the fourth Tuesday of the month at St. Francis Village, at 7:00 PM sharp - Arrive Early! We are also making some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches now. The next PNS evening will be Tuesday, October 23rd. Membership Please welcome Brother Larry Mendez back to our Council.
