Rally for Life : Lebanon PA Our 10th Annual Lebanon Right to Life Rally went well with approximately 60 attendees. Event was hosted by St. Paul s Pro-Life Ministry, St. Mary's Church, Knights of Columbus Assembly 973 and Council 9875. Weather was very cold, especially since we were standing still holding our signs on the 4 corners of St. Mary's Church. Fr. Harold Dagle and Deacon Wentzel joined us during the demonstration. Benediction celebrated by Deacon Wentzel was very inspirational and we all prayed for the end of abortion. Hot soup and coffee, sandwiches and dessert at the luncheon were delicious. Page 3

Wreath Across America - Fort Indiantown Gap - 1/26/2019 Starting at 8:00 am, the 43,000 wreaths placed on veterans graves were removed by approximately 100 volunteers, including many from the Knights of Columbus. Removal took only 2 hours due to the assistance provided by many volunteers. Temperature was only 21 degrees but the veterans, and their friends who talked about their military service, helped speed up the wait for the trucks to be loaded. It was a great day to honor our veterans. Worthy Sir Knights, I would like to thank all those who participated in the removal of wreaths and clean up at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on January 26th. The many volunteers that were involved helped clear the cemetery quickly of wreaths and other debris. Thank You! Vivat Jesus! Free Throw competition at Palmyra K of C Since 1972, Councils have sponsored the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 14 to provide an athletic outlet and encourage the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Kids compete within their own gender and age and progress from local level to district, regional and state/province competitions. This program is a great way to introduce the Knights of Columbus to the community and recruit faithful family men of service. Congratulations to all participants. Page 6

Letter to Sean Connelly, District Master, regarding the Star Assembly Award: Worthy District Master Sean, Thank you for attending our Assembly meeting and recognizing our many service efforts with the presentation of the Star Assembly Award. I am sure your talk encouraged many of our younger Knights to serve the church beyond the boundaries of our parishes. Taking this service to our communities and nation exemplifies the patriotic spirit of the 4th Degree. The meeting also gave the Assembly the opportunity to identify the service role we play in the Lebanon and Hershey areas. Thank you again! Vivat Jesus! James J. Dezagottis, FN Monsignor John J. Lawley #973 Lebanon, PA The Star Assembly Award was first awarded in 2016 for the 2015-2016 fraternal year. Assemblies that excel in membership recruitment, sponsoring patriotic programs in their communities, report to the Supreme Council office and keep their members and others informed of assembly activities are eligible to earn the Star Assembly Award.
