P a ge 5 SHORT STORY CORNER Submitted by Mike Rose Exercise for Individuals Over 59 Years of Age Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a five-pound potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax. Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer, until you can hold the bags for a solid minute. After a couple of weeks, move up to a ten-pound potato bag in each hand, until you can hold it for a solid minute. Then increase the weight to a 20-pound potato bag in each hand. Once you can hold a 20-pound potato bag in each hand for a solid minute, increase the weight to a 50- pound potato bag in each hand. You should continue holding the 50-pound bags in each hand for a solid minute for at least two weeks before you attempt to increase the weight of the potato bags. After two weeks, increase the 50-pound potato bag in each hand to a 75-pound potato bag, once you have been able to hold the two 75- pound bags straight out from your sides for a solid minute, then increase it to a 100-pound bag in each hand. After at least two weeks, once you can hold the 100-pound potato bag in each hand for a solid one minute out from your sides, place a potato in each of the one 100- pound potato bags. P a ge 6 QUESTIONS OF THE MIND Submitted by Mike Rose April Questions 1. What is a Kerf, in reference to a saw? 2. What is/are the tooth/teeth of a saw? 3. What is the rake of a saw? 4. What is the set, in reference to a saw? 5. What is a saw set? 6. What is the rake in reference to a saw? 7. When discussing saws, what does a web refer to? 8. What is the heel of a saw? 9. What is point of a saw? 10. What is the PPI of a saw? The Blessed Sacrament By Tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates the month of April to the Blessed Sacrament. One thing that sets Catholics apart from other Christians who believe in the Real Presence (that the bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Christ) is that we don't believe that the Real Presence ends when the Sacrament of Holy Communion is complete. Frequent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, reserved in the tabernacle is a great path to spiritual growth. In this Act of Adoration, we thank Christ for His continued presence among us, not just through His grace but physically, in the Holy Eucharist. His Body is the Bread of Angels, offered for our strength and salvation. Act of Adoration I adore Thee, O Jesus, true God and true Man, here present in the Holy Eucharist, humbly kneeling before Thee and united in spirit with all the faithful on earth and all the blessed in heaven. In deepest gratitude for so great a blessing, I love Thee my Jesus with my whole heart, for Thou are all perfect and all worthy of love. Give me grace nevermore in any way to offend Thee and grant that I, being refreshed by Thy Eucharistic presence here on earth. Amen.
