Days off of work, travel plans, financial limitations, sales on merchandise and opportunities to out-do or outparty someone else and the associated hustle and bustle are hardly what the Holiday spirit is about. All of our personal, family and employment related issues add new stress to the already stressful holiday season. Therefore, we need to remind ourselves of how Holidays evolved and the true values that they stand for. As Knights, we owe it to our Lord, our Order and to our fellow man to make every effort to enhance the quality of life for as many people as we can, whenever and however we can. We must do this not only around the Holidays, but year round. These are tall orders, but as Knights, what can we not accomplish if we follow Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism? As you all know, I am man of few words. So, remember, this holiday season, and every Prayerful Thoughts year thereafter, do what it takes to keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas and THANKS in THANKSgiving. Our society will be better off! Vivat Jesus! Mike LaMartina Meeting Changes Officer s Meeting for December has been moved to January 12th, prior to the Council Business Meeting. Officer s and Lecturer s Meetings for May have been moved to May 11th and the Business Meeting will be moved to May 25th. This is because the Council Elections for the Columbian Year 2011/12, held at the Business Meeting, must be after the State Convention (May 13-15, 2011). The message was as follows: "Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer for you. My call, little children, desires to be for you a call to decide to follow the way of conversion; therefore, pray and seek the intercession of all the saints. May they be for you an example, an incentive and a joy towards eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call. Message to Mirjana - November 2, 2010 Our Lady appeared to the visionary Mirjana today, as she does on every 2nd of the month, to pray with Mirjana for unbelievers. This is the message given by Our Lady: "Dear children; With motherly perseverance and love I am bringing you the light of life to destroy the darkness of death in you. Do not reject me, my children. Stop and look within yourselves and see how sinful you are. Be aware of your sins and pray for forgiveness. My children, you do not desire to accept that you are weak and little, but you can be strong and great by doing God's will. Give me your cleansed hearts that I may illuminate them with the light of life, my Son. Thank you." 1

In its three year existence more than 11,000 churches were involved in all 50 states and five other countries (Canada, Australia, Northern Ireland, Denmark, and England) with 350,000 people taking part. 337 U S cities were involved. Seven clinics shut down forever. 3,445 babies (that we know of) were saved. Beaumont News Beaumont Holding Company, Inc. Thanks to all who have already subscribed to our bond purchase program. To date we have sold 100 bonds, raising $25,000.00 to assist in renovating the Ladies Room. We do have more to sell. Bonds are $ 250.00 apiece, and Thirty nine abortion workers quit their jobs. This is an acceleration of a national trend as more and more people grasp the horrors of childkilling. In 1991 there were 2100 abortion mills nationwide. Today there are 694. But there is a troubling downside for us locally. With the closing of the abortion mill in Severna Park and disclosures of criminal conduct at an Elkton facility-more people are coming to Hillcrest. Forty Days for Life will resume in the spring. But in the meantime many of us are praying at the Hillcrest mill from 9-12 on four days a week. Our Council has been asked to cover Thursday morning. If you have an hour to spare, all you need is your rosary. See you there? Movie Night was held Friday Nov 12. A small but enthusiastic group of five Brother Knights, three wives, one child and three guests watched the film Fireproof. The film inspired discussion of the importance of growing our relationships with sacrificial love so that when a Fire comes in our lives, we will be Fireproof and able to withstand it together. As the tagline of the film goes Never leave your partner, especially in a fire. P A G E 4 DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION DAY A SUCCESS! Patapsco Council shreds documents for charity programs. Please pray for the following sick: Frank Viscardi Ernie Schafer Please pray for the families of the following deceased: Jean Carhart (11/3/10) Jim Lyons (11/13/10) Saturday, October 16, 2010 was a bright sunny, although a bit windy, day. People began lining up to drop off their material for shredding at 11:00AM. By the time the truck arrived at the Council home at 12:30PM, there were approximately 50 people lined up, ready to go. By the time our time was up at 2:30PM, almost 300 people, who brought in over 4,000 pounds (THAT S OVER 2 TONS, FOLKS!) had been served. Those 4,000 pounds of paper were the equivalent of 110 trees that were saved. Donations of over $1,500.00 were made. This money went to our Scholarship Fund, the Food for the Needy Campaign & our general fund. I want to thank all of the Brothers that came out to help that day: District Warden, PGK Ken Horvitz, PGK Tom Slifker, PGK Mike Doetzer, PGK Bob Carhart, Beaumont Holding Company President Pat Young, Chancellor Warren Norris, Brothers Mike Karpers, Tom Walsh & Joe Eichelman. We Insurance News Did you know that more than 50% of households in the United States and Canada have no individually owned life insurance? One reason supported by a survey by the Life Insurance Marketing Research Association was that 43% of people were afraid to make the wrong decision re- garding their life insurance needs. This problem can be solved by a simple meeting with your professional, full-time agent. Your agent is dedicated to serving members and their families, answering their questions and making personalized recommendations that suit your needs and budget. A conversation with a Knights will be doing this activity again on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from Noon until 2:00PM. Start saving up those cancelled checks, old tax returns and other documents you don t want to put in the recycle bin or have to shred at home. Mike Blair, Chairman of Columbus agent can help inform you about the products we offer. In the end, you ll realize that the only wrong decision was not meeting with him sooner. Retired Men's Auxiliary -- Thanks to all who attended our Oktoberfest in October to hear Night at the Copa Singers. Please note that the December luncheon is rescheduled for Tuesday, December 14, 2010 @ 11:30 A.M., in the Blue Room. Merry Christmas to all.
