We strive to welcome, accept and love all people as they are, and through our ministries reach out with active concern to those in need.

Gathering Around the Table: Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ A simple table. The astounding message of today s feast was laid on a simple table. Jesus leaned on that table, looked around it at his friends, lifted the bread and wine from that table, and, said words to ensure His presence with them and us for the rest of Time. The message from that first simple table has been repeated at many other tables over two thousand years. The family dining room table holds our food, but also the love and unity of Jesus which is mutually shared among parents and children and guests. The simple table of our parish altar during our Eucharistic celebrations together nourishes us all as we stand and sit around it sharing God s word and the Body and Blood of Christ. The simple tables we create from our world-wide networks and connections draw together communities of rich diversity. Around these tables we give to and receive from each other the multi-cultured wisdom, love and commitment of the peoples of the world - the poor as well as the prosperous, the burdened as well as the free. This is how the mission of Jesus is carried out: around simple tables where openness, acceptance, and love are mutually given and received. Alice Murray (Inspired by the book, What is the Mission of the Church? By Roger P. Schroeder)

Retreat begins at 3:30 and ends with the noon meal on the following Saturday. Many today are drawn to the mystics--people of their times, then and now, gifted with vision, lightness of being, intimacy with God, and compassion. Their writings engage our own seeking. Mystics awaken in us our own deep knowing: aching loves (our own and God s); life s thin places of meeting; the soul s taste of divine fire. We meet the Mystery of the strangeness and closeness of God. With themes each day we will enter into the serious wisdom and humor of such mystics as the Psalmists, Rumi and Hafiz; St. Catherine of Siena, Mary Oliver, and Annie Dillard; Black Elk, Meister Eckhart, Thomas Merton; Hildegard of Bingen, Teilhard de Chardin, and Anne Lamott. Cost: $425 (incl. $50 n/r deposit) If questions, call S. Rita at (262) 639-4100 x1230, or visit our Website at www.racinedominicans.org. Theology-on-Tap 2009: Tap into something More.
